Nice place and grounds but our afternoon tea was a bit of a let down. I think the food had been left to stand before we got it as the sandwiches tasted stale and the scones were clearly past their best too. We weren't asked if we wanted more drinks so had to flag down the busy waitress to order tea and coffee which was served without a selection on sugar/sweeteners etc. I expected a better service from that kind of place to be honest as I've had much better afternoon tea elsewhere.

We were served well and attentively by the staff. Most people seemed to be having a 'tea and cakes' but we went for a cooked meal - salmon and duck respectively. Both appetising and well cooked and presented. A relaxed enjoyable meal in good surroundings. The flower beds outside were colourful and attractive which added to the pleasure even though the sky was cloudy.

Booked in at 6:30pm. Fairly quiet not many staff in sight. Went to bar for a drink slow not all lagers were on. Seemed to be a lot of irritable staff leaving impression not a happy ship. Only saving grace was the food was excellent, [no Salmon available on a Bank Holiday]. Not sure the food made up for the poor service and atmosphere.

Delicious meal and good service although helpings too large and took some home. New decor including carpet gives more cosy feel. Useful being able to book on-line.

Great building and surrounding gardens, staff were friendly and attentive. Great experience and located on the A60 close to Newstead Abbey on one of Nottingham's main arterial routes.

Service was quick, polite and friendly. When I raised an issue with something (a matter of personal taste rather than them doing anything wrong) they sorted it straight away with no questions. And although it might be in the pricier range the food is well worth it.

Seated quickly upstairs and drinks order was taken. The drinks were brought quickly. Great service up until then. Had to find someone downstairs to order our food as we felt we had been forgotten about as we were seated upstairs alone (we must have been sat there for at least 15 mins waiting). Other people were now being seated upstairs whilst we were eating our meals but after we had finished even though the waitering staff were around no one came to take our plates away and again we were sat for a while. This prompted us to get up go down stairs and pay the bill. Normally the service is excellent but on this occasion I found it to be very poor. If this had been my first visit I would not be recommending to friends and family. One of the guests had a roast beef dinner and most of the beef was left on the plate as it was very fatty and hard to cut. The chicken had pepper on although it tasted very nice is comes with no warning and if you are not a person who likes pepper this would not be pleasant.

A few minor floors, the toilet in the ladies being clogged up with tissue and excreetment, a waiter dropping a drink nearly on the table, accidents happen and one of our table didn't get her starter until we had nearly finished ours. Overall for was fab and the main waitress was funny.

My friend and I had afternoon tea here on 17th June 2016 which was lovely. Good selection of sandwiches, cakes and tea served in a proper teapot. Tony - one of the gym instructors - showed us around the place which looks amazing. Lovely building in beautiful surroundings. I had 2 different massages in the morning which I thoroughly enjoyed. Spa facilities including the pool look great. Had we got ourselves more organised we would have arranged a proper spa day. Will do that another day! Overall a lovely day and will go back again

The food and service was very good, but the choice of seating areas were the only thing that let it down, it was next to the exit door or what felt like sitting in the walk way.

Once a month my friend and I visit new places for lunch. When we saw that Lakeside had changed, we wanted to try it and we weren't disappointed. The booking was made through their website and almost immediately a confirmation came through, good brownie point there. On arrival, we were escorted to the upper level having ordered wine beforehand. The wine waitress made sure that our order would be correct by bringing to our table two different (but similar) bottles of the chosen wine, another brownie point. The waitress taking our order was also very efficient, very pleasant and smiled all the time, third brownie point. The food was excellent, fourth brownie point. All in all we had a great time in beautiful surroundings, eating good food and sipping our prosecco. I would recommend Lakeside to all who lunch. We will be trying an evening meal there very soon.
