We had a lovely meal. There was myself and two daughters for lunch. I had seafood linquini and my daughter had fillet steak and other daughter had three course special which was really good value for £13.95. She had bruschetta to start and said it was delicious. then spaghetti Bolognese and then profiteroles. All our meals were tasty and lovely and hot. Thank you. Staff were lovely.

Centrally located in The Shambles. Prompt and efficient service with authentic Italian food and a friendly atmosphere. Would suggest phoning to book table rather than on line.

Four of us dined here on 9 December 2017. All the staff were cheery and pleasant and we had some banter. All the food went down well, especially the ravioli, ribs, calves liver and steak. We will go back next time in York.

Beautiful food as alwsys, this is our favourite restaurant ! The fillet steak is the best we’ve ever eaten! It’s like being in Italy with the quirkiness and great tasting wine. All staff are lovely with awesome customer service. You need to eat here-you won’t be disappointed.

After our third visit to L’antica Locanda we still love it as much as the first time. The food is delicious. We have had steak before, but this time had a chicken dish and it was spot on, with a beautiful sauce and accompaniments. The place it’s self is small but comfortable, the staff are very nice ant typical Italians, you can hear them squabbling amongst themselves in the kitchen but in a nice way, it’s quite comical to listen to them. We went for our wedding anniversary, it’s ideal if you want something special. We also came out with a gift each of Panettone. I would definitely recommend L’antica Locanda. X

Our favourite restaurant in York. Rustic, authentic and friendly with superb food! We came back to York from Kent on a mini break and planned our visit around eating at L'antica Locanda. Great value for money is a bonus! Already planning our next return!

The food was ok, not the best I’ve had - when I go to this restaurant I always leave with the impression that the staff can’t be bothered with the customers! We asked what came with the fish and were told ‘spinach’ so ordered some roast potatoes only to be served with a portion of vegetables that hadn’t been mentioned! So roast potatoes a waste of my money. The dessert menu not appealing at all! I rarely give negative feedback but on this occasion is thoroughly deserved and we won’t be returning!

Very disappointed - we have been to this restaurant three times before and the food is sublime. Arrived on Saturday and was made very welcome by the waiting staff who were friendly and efficient. so what was the problem? the Manager was at first friendly and then became annoying. He had made a new desert which we didn't want to try but felt bullied into. Two of us were served the desert which we made clear we didn't want. He then made personal comments about other people on other tables. Food was beautiful, waiters tried hard, but the manager is a liability. Very disappointed.

Lovely intimate restaurant with nice view of The Shambles, especially with a window seat upstairs. Good home cooked food at reasonable prices with good friendly service. I had the Lobster & Prawn risotto which was to die for. Highly recommended, what's not to like!!

Booked table for two for our 45th wedding anniversary, arrived early table was not available so they gave us a complimentary drink while we waited. It was worth the wait as the food was marvelous and service was brilliant, will be going back again
