The food was absolutely delicious, well presented, fresh and full of flavour. I had to ask for the truly awful and unnecessary "music" to be turned down as I could hardly hear or speak above it, but that is a small observation, could have been a bit warmer on a vile stormy rainy day, but again only an observation. Overall excellent, good value and we will definitely b back

I have been going to the restaurant for years and when it first opened I loved the freshness of the produce. Last night's experience clearly demonstrated that it is now a very tired place to eat- the menu has not been altered for years, there are no specials on offer and the food we received was bland and the presentation was dull. The one member of waiting staff did his best to serve all the tables and I commend him for his efforts. Until the restaurant reinvigorates itself I won't be going back

The place was very noisy. The food I wold rate as average. I had seafood gratinee - sauce was grey in colour, wet, loose consistency, bland taste. It was however, piping hot, contained plenty of prawns. Our server was delightful.

We enjoyed our meals very.much - food was good, moules in garlic cream and white wine sauce 'best I've tasted outside France'. A bit disorganised in paying the bill but otherwise very enjoyable.

Excellent starter and main but no welcome from staff who need to be trained better. English cheeseboard had French cheese According to the waiter. Although thought it was Danish Blue.Should have been better for £90 for 2.

Sadly this was a very disappointing first time visit! For a Half Term Friday night, it was severely under staffed! Although I will note that the waiter and waitress were very courteous and professional, doing the best they could do under the circumstances. I ordered the ‘confit of duck served with cassoulet’. What was served was a luke warm duck leg with anaemic skin, on a bed of baked beans, chopped bits of sausage and salad bacon! I’m not quite sure

We enjoyed the atmosphere and service but the food, although not bad, was lacklustre and didn't live up to expectation or the price tag. I fed back my specific points to the staff in the restaurant.

The best Calamares I have ever had anywhere! Sadly we overestimated our capacity and with olives/tapenade starter also shared, we couldn't finish our really lovely main courses and had no room for dessert at all, just black coffee, which was also very good.

Crunchy battered soft shell crab & calamari both served with a lovely tartare sauce. Melt in the mouth braised ox cheek in a delicious gravy. An alternative potato to fries, like fondant, would have suited the dish better. Perfectly cooked fillet steak. Friendly & efficient service.

Service was very slow on our most recent visit. It took half and hour for our drinks to come and 45 mins for our starters to arrive. Food was fine but a few niggles.

Wonderful relaxed meal. Great friendly service and perfect Friday evening ambience. The Valentine's menu was still available and the accompanying fizz was delicious. Cheeseboard to finish was varied, complex, generous and thoroughly enjoyable.

We really enjoyed our visit at L'Estuaire, it's been some time since we ate there last. The staff were very friendly & we were kept informed of progress with our starters & mains, clearly note has been taken of previous criticism. We couldn't fault anything that we had, it was all delicious. However, the star was the homemade tartare sauce with the calamari. We will return.

We went with friends. The food was amazing (especially the mussels) the customer service prior to arriving was first class. The ambiance and restaurant service was second to none. This was our second visit in the last month so we knew the standard and we were not disappointed. Top notch. We will definitely go back again.

This restaurant is perfectly situated on the quay at Topsham with both inside and outside dining. The food is very good as is the service. We took business clients and had the 2 course lunch menu which was excellent value for money and delicious.
