Our second time at this small restaurant. Excellent food and service. Hope we can come back again.

Once again we had a wonderful evening at Lucien’s - fabulous food and a great atmosphere. We are never disappointed!

No other guests. Not prepared for us. Nothing expected on the menu. Unwelcoming smell. Food awful. Veg came up after we were started, long wait for for condiments. Crockery and cutlery could do with a polish. We won’t be returning!

This had a lot going for it - the food (particularly the sauces) was very good. However, the waiter we had was too "in your face" at every visit to be table. At the start, it was a bit irritating, then not so bad, then much worse. That style and level of engagement will not be to everyone's taste.

We went on a quiet night - the only people there. Since we were catching up with friends it suited us perfectly, almost like having dinner at home without the cooking and washing up. Very friendly owner, a relaxing night.

We had Sunday roast today. I had smoked salmon and prawns salad. The salmon was a bit too salty. The roast beef was tender.

A little chaotic- lovely warm welcome but not as advertised - it wasn’t busy god help them if it had been - the portions were miserly - frankly they’ll need to improve the offering at this price point if thy are going to survive as there is lots of butter value local competition

Nicely cooked food, reasonable price. Will definitely come again. We had mushrooms and fish soup for starters, they were full of flavour. The bread was so delicious as well.

Quirky but truly endearing service - Jo and Natasha looked after us superbly. Food is always excellent here. And they went the extra yard by arranging flowers on my behalf to give to my Valentine! We love this restaurant!

This is absolutely my new favourite restaurant. The food is beautiful and the service is fantastic! We booked here for dinner on my birthday for the first time and returned for a Sunday roast 2 days later. We are now regular visitors and I can easily say it's the best Sunday Roast i've had anywhere!

Cosy place, nice background music and Paulo, the waiter, was very friendly and welcoming. Food was very average, not bad but nothing to go back for.

A very pleasant evening. The waiter was a character ! Not 'modern' cuisine but good and if a tad 'old fashioned', so what ? Will return.

Returning to Lucien’s after 5 months for a set menu Sunday lunch, we noticed that it had been redecorated, new pictures on the wall, new chairs with cushions. The wide choice of starters, from which we chose, were delicious asparagus with excellent Palma ham, goats cheese salad, prawn cocktail, garlic mushrooms, were presented on new attractive plates. There was a choice of roasts and about 4 other dishes. Roast pork to follow was delicious with crispy, edible crackling. The beef was very good quality, tender meat. Dessert of apple pie was the only dish to criticise. It had obviously been heated up in the microwave making It have Mary Berrt’s “soggy bottom”. We suggested it should have been warmed up in a traditional oven. Homemade ice creams were delicious. All served by the chef ‘s wife and sometimes helped by their one year old son, called Roux!!!! What’s he going to be when he grows up?!

Excellent service, friendly and warm, food... well what can you say - magnificent! We strongly recommend anybody considering coming here for a lunch, dinner or such like.

A pleasant meal out but not as good as we'd hoped to report, as we were entertaining. The place was not on its A-game, either out front or in the kitchen. Menu deviated from what was on the website, which is to be expected, but only one type of steak was listed (rib-eye, which is not for me), and the short-rib of beef had a very bland sauce. Portions were inconsistent - pork in calvados and short rib were rather mean, while lamb shank and hake were actually too big. Understood - it's lower-priced than Sosio's was, but equally, the offer is not at the same level. Really want this place to succeed, as it is an independent with nice people, but they must keep their standards up, with La Casa and Osso Bucco just down the road. We'll visit again, regardless, and hope to find them on a good day.

Fantastic Sunday roast, huge portions with the most amazing gravy. The service was relaxed and friendly. Good value for money so we will definitely return!

Excellent service and food. Made to feel very welcome. Good choice of menu which changes regularly. There were two of us, we had the lamb and the steak, both delicious. House wine very acceptable. Will go again

Nice cosy French restaurant - excellent service. Delicious starters and dessert. Main course of breaded sea bream was a little over cooked and dryish - delicious pots and veg. So overall very good. Atlantic Cid was nice.

It was our first time at this restaurant and whilst we found the food and service good, there was little ambience in the decor/feel of the place. A very ‘safe’ menu - nothing particularly exciting.
