Whose Thai is Mai Thai’s, you may very well ask yourself? Given that this spruce little Cambridge Southeast Asian restaurant sits pretty on Park Terrace (in the Parker’s Piece cricket pavilion to be precise) slap bang between Petersfield and the southern reaches of the city centre, Mai Thai is confidently everybody’s Thai. The decor is minimal and the four flavour fundamentals of Thai cuisine – spicy, salty, sour and sweet – are perfectly balanced. A definite step up from your run-of-the-mill Southeast Asian eatery, but with prices that are budget-friendly nonetheless, Mai Thai Restaurant is a very good table booking indeed.
Friendly and helpful staff served a huge variety of tasty food, identifying each dish as it was presented. Our party of six mixed and matched our way through it and we all had a very enjoyable evening.
Great service and really good food. Lots of choice on the menu - it took us ages to decide. Portions were big. It was my first time having Thai food and I am looking forward to going back.
Lovely flavours and beautifully presented - warm chicken salad with fantastic spice heat and duck with great sauce. Nice view of Parker's Piece. Thank you!
