Mandarin is a great restaurant with superb food and drinks. We last went in February and it was a pleasure to go back again and dine in. The food was delicious, especially the chef's special calamari and the Lamb in Sea Spice sauce!! Drinks were really good - beer, cocktails and spirits. The evening there was really peaceful, with light house music being played not too loud. It was a lovely evening and will be back again for sure

I felt the prawn crackers were too soft and chewy but the rest of the food was amazing

although we enjoyed our evening the only comments would be that the table was not ready on our arrival and the table was dirty, food was okay and service was pretty good

Bit of a strange meal. On arrival at our booked time we were told that it would be a 40 minute wait for food so we were pleasantly surprised when our order was taken within 5 minutes of arrival and starters arrived less than 10 minutes later. When it was time for main course, the warm plates arrived and we then waited quite a long time for the food to come. When it did, one of the dishes was not what we ordered so all the dishes were taken away. When the correct food came it was obvious that they had recooked everything and not just kept the other dishes hot as one of them was different. However as it was very nice we didn't bother sending it back. Overall the food was lovely. Some of the staff don't seem to know what they are doing though. While we were waiting for the main course to come back the manager came over and apologised and offered us a free drink which we said we would have later as we had a full bottle of wine, however the offer wasn't made again so we never got them! We would go back for the food alone as it is difficult to find a good chinese restaurant in our area but the staff could really do with some training.

My wife and I took our two granddaughters. The last time we were there was in the early 1970’s. We had a splendid evening. Nothing could be bettered.

Having not been for some time I found a complete change 😮while the food was ok the ambience extremely un Chinese Indian Eastern European waiters not a Chinese in sight music not very Chinese trumpet music very disappointing

One waiter chewing gum the whole time we were there, later saw him through the skylight on a break, think he was smoking . One waiter couldn't speak English. Ordered Rose wine, told us they did not have, when we asked the manager who had been on the phone she said they had rose wine. Not impressed

First impresion of Mandarin was good, nice looking room but not busy for a saturday night. Our waiter had problems understanding what we wanted when we ordered our drinks,he did not know what lager was! the food ordering process took a long time as we had to point to the menu as verbally he did not understand us. We ordered soup,duck and mains. the duck came just before the soup and ended up cold before we started it the mains were all very salty. it was very disappointing.

Excellent Chinese Restaurant. It is a rare thing to find a good Chinese Restaurant.

We had been to this restaurant few times previously, even when it was owned by different team. The food used to be of good quality and really delicious, hence we kept going back to this restaurant. but as we now noticed, the quality has gradually come down to the awful level that we had yesterday, when we went for birthday parties of both our son and our friend's daughter. They were least interested in serving well or taking care of anything that was needed, including water or providing appropriate cutleries. Also, when we ordered food, they were all of such low standards - for example, the egg fried rice did not have egg at all. We will not definitely return to this restaurant.

We enjoyed a very good set meal in pleasant surroundings served by very friendly and attentive staff. Highly recommended!
