Mango Thai Tapas - Ocean Village

Very very poor from the person who served us. I expressed that I did not want to sit next to the door as it was freezing cold and yet still tried putting us next to the door. As a result, we just left and went to another restaurant that was more accommodating. Very poor service by this restaurant. Used to be a favourite but definitely not now.

Service was terrible as only 2 staff, waited 30 mins for a drink then finally asked ourselves, also asked for crackers and sauce as it’s usually given as standard, waited a further 30 / 45 mins for food and finally when it came it was cold. Only one dish was taken off the overall receipt which was my own, however we ate hardly any of our food it was that bad and still paid an £82 bill. Wouldn’t come again unless it considerably changed, including staffs attitude. Would rather visit another restaurant or the other two mango restaurants and actually enjoy an expensive meal rather than regret it.

Great food and service. Thoroughly enjoyable evening in a relaxed and authentic surrounding. Will definitely return for the crispy squid and dim sum, so good!!

Great food in a really good atmosphere, topped off with helpful staff who were friendly, welcoming and cheerful. Excellent live music downstairs too, so a perfect evening all round.

excellent service ams the food was delicious! lovely decor and cocktail list. Our lovely waitress was very helpful. My 13year old was impressed worth the non alchoholic cocktails too.

Really good overall, the food was excellent and the service attentive. The only negative being that we had put that it was a birthday celebration on the reservation but this wasn’t acknowledged when we were there.

Waitress was really friendly and the food and atmosphere were brilliant. Recommend the coconut chicken which was delicious ! Just sad there was no crispy seaweed.

Food was delicious and good veggie selection with friendly service but the unfortunately the air con was too fierce given the cold wet weather today.

Excellent food, good service, nice atmosphere. perhaps a bit pricey for some purses, but we were celebrating a couple of birthdays, and so were prepared to spend a bit more than usual.

Very good tapas (not Spanish), the four for three deal is very good for sharing. The drinks are a little pricey and the service was a little slow. Overall, good value and a good experience.

Food was lovely, not massive portions but certainly enough to leave full. staff were brilliant! Couldn’t have chose a better place for my sons 21st

Waited 10 mins to be seated, not greeted or acknowledged. 4 other tables in their were waiting to be served and I only saw one member of staff running around who didn’t acknowledge us waiting. Extremely poor service We went to the Mango in central Southampton, near Guildhall. The service here was great.

Lovely ambience, great food and decent drinks menu. We will be returning very soon and recommending to others. Will follow on social media to understand more about promotions and events.

Great food. The vibe was a little cold on the ocean village site compared to the above bar one. Mains pottions also abit smaller. Still cant complain as quality of food was perfect and service was good and quick.

Service and food were excellent, very authentic dishes served with a smile. Decor and waterfall added to the experience along with the spotless toilets . Will be going back for sure.

First visit eating in a Thai restaurant; an incredible taste experience... as a vegetarian I‘m fed up with what restaurants deem to be a ‘Veggi option’ , Mango simply delivers, from friendly hardworking staff to the beautiful selections of food. Our daughters birthday was made memorable, thank you.

we had a lovely lunch here. The restaurant is clean, tidy and the service was excellent. Great location and I would definitely recommend it to others.

First visit to the Ocean Village Mango’s although we have been to the Portswood one several times. The food was lovely, good atmosphere even though it was not a busy night and the service was friendly. Will definitely go again.

Mangos was great atmosphere for my birthday dinner, however we did wait an long amount of time for our food. We stayed occupied with our refreshments but we all started to get a bit agitated waiting around. Nonetheless the food was perfect, we then decided to go downstairs for the live music which was a perfect end to our night. I have been going here for the past year and will continue to do so.

Great mid week meal. Would recommend the pork belly as a starter. Cocktails looked fantastic and the non alcoholic lychee juice I had was delicious

Very helpful waiter/barman who know the menu extremely well chose our food for us after gathering our preferences. He also mixed cocktails on the same basis. Not having to decide food for 5 people was fantastic! Then, when the food arrived, it was great! Lots of variety, piping hot and beautifully presented. Go to Mango! This place is excellent!

It was valentines night and we were early and the only people in restaurant. Our starter which we waited for for some time came with our main course so we sent the main course back. The staff were dressed scruffy and service was shoddy. There was no real valentine feel to the evening, tho they did have a set menu. We were looking forward to a dance downstairs after but that was full of tables and chairs to maximise the food takings that night. Disappointed. The cheesecake came and it wasn’t cheesecake, it was a Bakewell tart. All in all not great and definitely wouldn’t rush back.

Service was great, food was excellent, will definitely eat here again. There are no main dishes only Tapas size but still plenty to choose from and the ones we had are all of great quality & taste.

The Food was very good as was the service - I will go again too. Just beware they the portions are bigger then they claim

Great food and location, definitely recommend the spicy thai beef balls with pineapple sauce! Already planning another visit with a larger group as the tapas would work very well with a large table

As usual excellent experience in Mango Ocean Village. . Great service, great food, decent prices. . Soft shell crabs are a must to try. .

Nothing special but good food and pleasant surroundings. We had a vegetarian platter crispy beef, golden curry and beef chili stirfry. I would go again but I wouldn't be excited by it

Fabulous meal at this lovely little venue. The food was great value & very tasty. One of our party was from Bangcock & she enjoyed the meal very much.

We visited at lunchtime; found it lacked atmosphere as we were the only people in the restaurant and the waitress wasn't particularly friendly. It took about 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive, despite being the only two people there. Although, the food was lovely and there was lots of choice - would return but possibly in the evening.

Food was not very nice: I am not a great fan of Thai food anyway so may be unfair to blame them. service was slow, although very polite and pleasant. Reasonably priced, nicely laid out restaurant

Food was ok but not great. Pad thai prawns with noodles was a but glutinous. Tempura vegetables were better but still not as good (a bit too yellow) as others I've had recently in other local thai eateries. Service was friendly. So overall ok but not more to become a special experience

Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Food and drink were good but as there one only one barman, if you order cocktails it can be a bit slow. Nice if you're not in a rush. We took our time and had a lovely evening
