Honestly, it was awful. The table, glasses, jug of water, chairs, cushions, toilet and floors were so dirty. I ordered a chicken tikka and it was completely flavourless. My partner ordered a jalfrezi. We both ate the chicken and peshwari nans and left the rest of meal. It was a gift and we were so excited for a curry out in Bath. We actually went for lunch somewhere else after. Such a shame. Definitely not worth £60.

We arrived exactly on time as per our booking, but were asked to wait 10 minutes in a 'hairdressers style waiting area', which in itself wasnt really a problem. When we were taken to our seats, we weren't given menus. Later the waitress returned and asked if we wanted 'water and poppadoms' with all the warmth of a wet flannel, and she still gave us no menus. Then she returned 5-10 minutes later, asked for our order, we didnt have menus. When we were able we ordered our drinks, when they came, they did not all come together and one of them was wrong. When the popadoms arrived they were broken into pieces in a basket, I've had Indian food many times and I've never had poppadoms served in this way. Approximately 45 minutes after entering the restaurant we were able to order, a long wait in anyones books, especially as the restaurant wasn't very busy. The service was not warm or attentative, we were never asked for additional drinks during our entire time there. When our food eventually arrived, there was no check back to see if it was all ok or if we needed anything else. The food itself was incredibly disappointing. We live in the Midlands and we were only visiting Bath to meet with friends, being from the Midlands I guess means we are spoiled with the quality of Indian food restaurants. But the depth of flavour for the entire meal was extremely lacking. The Chicken Tikka Masala was equivalent to a bowl of Campbells cream of tomato soup with chicken pieces floating around in it. The 'platter' was more a single plate, the Jalfrazi was passable, but again, the order was brought to the table wrong, they originally brought a Rogan Josh and then had to take it away. We were polite throughout and didn't complain, we didn't want to spoil our meal with friends we hadn't seen for a very long time. We chose to pay for our meal at the bar and leave as soon as possible, but even then the barman, who had just removed our plates didn't recognise us or know which table we were from. For them it was a good job the service charge was already included on the bill, as we definitely would not have left a tip. We will not be returning to Mantra ever again and we suggest others don't if they are looking for an authentic Indian restaurant. This isn't it.
