we like Turkish restaurants but stick mainly to vegetarian style dishes. This place specialises in meat; the other things we prefer were very poor by comparison with other Turkish places we have eaten in. The best things were the hummus, youghurt & bread which were freebies! No Turkish wines were offered except by the bottle, nothing by the glass, half bottle etc, In fact the only thing on offer except by the bottle was an Italian, one in each of the 3 usual colours. It was cheap & the worst Italian I have tasted for a very long time (the boss said people wouldn't pay more than £3.50 a glass !)

Warm welcome and friendly service. Plenty of choice of food on the menu and very good portions. Nice and buzzy atmosphere. Just a bit too quick taking the orders as they seem to rush everything in order to get the table vacated.

The food at Melissas is reliably good! The restaurant is always noisy and packed but it’s all about the food!! We never hesitate to recommend.

The service was great. The food was amazing. Nothing bad to say. We will be back! I recommend getting the lamb shish or lamb cop with rice!

Excellent food, in addition the service was good. Portion sizes are good, we ordered a platter and had plenty of food for 2 people. In fact we had some packed to take.

Good service but floor was a bit greasy. The quality of the meat was excellent. It was very noisy but that was due to the number if younger children present. Good value for money

Food was very slow to come out, was told 30 mins for sea bass, food actually took 45/50mins as we didn’t have starters. Small salad to be shared between 3 people - was tasty but not outstanding. Probably won’t return

The lamb shish was excellent but the waitresses didnt understand wanting a larger starter as a main meal. The sea bass fillet was very bony. Because the staff realised we weren't happy with our order they didn't charge us for one dessert and coffees.

Table was ready for us and excellent service was received. Food served quickly , good size portion and full of flavour. Friendly service all round

Nice clean friendly place. Didn’t have an allergy menu. Tried to explain about a few allergies with certain salads but still got the food with what we asked not to be on the there!

First time I went, and was thoroughly pleased by the quantity and quality of the food. will come back!

Great experience - great food - really friendly staff and always a real pleasure to dine there. This is of course coupled with the price which is always exceptional value

The best aspect of this restaurant is the waitresses who are friendly, pleasant and helpful and work very hard. They are hampered by the kitchen who seemed incapable of producing any four dishes at once whether for our table or others..I enjoyed the special Melissa Cocktail but the (Vegetarían) dishes were average at best . We were lucky to have a table in the quieter part of the restaurant but the downside of this was that it was very crafty. Sorry, but we won’t be going back.

The food is tasty and the price is great. I’ve only marked it down because it was so unbelievably noisy on a Saturday night. Highly recommend!

Friendly, affordable and great food. Its a place we have returned to on several occasions with a number of friends and family . Never disappoints.

Loved the food, big portions, did not manage to eat it all. Waiting staff looked bored and disconnected, but i came to have food and conversation. Great food, good prices, will be back for more in the future.

Good value, decent food, bit chaotic, but ok.... bumped into my sister n her family and they managed to seat us together, which was nice.

Went to Melissa Restaurant for meal on a Friday evening for first time having booked. Waitresses very attentive to the clientele -whether new or seemingly regular. Noticeably hardworking but still taking time to engage with the customers. Good sized portions of both starters and main course, such that little room for dessert. Lamb nicely seasoned, well-cooked and very tender. Generous amount of salad. Reasonably priced. Only drawback on a Friday evening at 19.00 hours was the excessive noise from children (who were obviously enjoying themselves at venue and were well-catered for by the staff). Practical solution: for a more quiescent meal, to attend after 20.15 hrs when the ambient sound subsides.

Great food, great service and really friendly staff. It's always a pleasure to eat there - the premises are always spotless and the staff take a real pride in the service they provide. Last of all - such great value 😄

The food was amazing! Way too much - we couldn't finish, but the salads were fresh and delicious and the dips were tasty. The freshly warmed bread was a treat!

This is a lovely local restaurant with friendly staff and a personal welcome. The food is large portions at very reasonable prices. The only downside is sometimes the service can be a bit slow.

The food was delicious and the service was very good. The owner is charming and greets you like you are an old friend. Only one small complaint, and it is very trivial, one waitress is on the miserable side and didn't smile once. Also they do not have semi-skimmed or skimmed milk which means no lattes ordered after the meal. I would recommend.

second time at this restaurant( on a football away trip) and not disappointed. Has expanded now, food excellent and wonderful service. Will be back again so long as football calendar allows

VERY NICE LOCAL RESTAURANT. IT HAS RECENTLY BEEN EXTENDED AND LOOKS GOOD. STAFF ARE VERY ATTENTIVE AND HELPFUL WHEN ASKED ABOUT SOME DISHES ON THE MENU. THE OWNER CAME OVER TO THE TABLE AS I WAS BY MYSELF AND WAITING FOR MY SON, WE CHATTED AND HE OFFERED ME A DRINK. THE FOOD AND WINE WAS VERY GOOD AND IN ALL A VERY PLEASANT EXPERIENCE WHICH WE WILL REPEAT AGAIN.

The staff are friendly and welcoming. Food is excellent. Great little restarant walking distance from Canons Park underground station. Great parade for a night out.

Slow service so by the time the mains arrived we didn't have much appetite. Very noisy as well, which made conversation hard to hear. Staters were lovely. Disappointed with the mains. Meat was over cooked and dry.

Went for a meal with my friends before the football at Barnet, nice food, good service and good value - would recommend a visit to this restaurant

Unpretentious yet excellently. The food here is terrific. Very good value well cooked and tasty. The service is incredibly friendly. Does exactly what it says on the tin and does it to perfection! Highly recommended

This is a first class Turkish restaurant with first class service. Food delicious. I would recommend for a great night out . Would recommend this restaurant
