Lovely atmosphere and food service was very good. Would recommend.

Arrived at 8.00pm, ordered drinks and main course. Drinks arrived 25mins later after chasing staff twice. 15 minutes later the waiter arrived to say "unfortunately our food order did not go through to the kitchen so could we please reorder". 25 minutes later our food arrived which fortunately was very tasty. Overall a strange visit but we are likely to try it again. Disappointed that no member of management came to discuss our experience

It was her birthday treat as we had been shopping & she had requested to come here after being unsuccessful last year as they were fully booked. What an amazing evening at The Merchant of Venice in Loseby Lane last night. Thank you so much to the staff for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food was really tasty and plenty of it. Fabulous lighting and great live music. We'll be back!

Made booking on Tuesday 6th January by Thursday 8th January my booking had not been confirmed took me to send a message to Merchant of Venice to see why it not been confirmed they apologised for delay and confirmed my booking then. So come Saturday 10th January arriving at the Merchant of Venice about 5:25 for our 5:30 booking only to find my name was on the table plan total missed off. Then finally seated at the back of the restaurant in the bar area and was so cold where we was seated was a leak. Not pleasant at all also request street level with no steps where we was seated had to go up steps. Total experience unstatisfactory not enough staff on for a busy Saturday evening. I had chops which under cook

We were "outside" area but wasn't told and it was very cold. Birthday not acknowledged despite advising on booking. Service was extremely slow and unattentive, albeit think probably new waitress, but atiod talking rather than even asking if we wanted dessert Thank goodness for the lovely Gracie who pulled the service back around. Food was fine couldn't fault it. I wouldn't make a special effort to go again but would go if I was in the area.

It is rare that I do not leave a tip, but this was a disaster. I booked several weeks ago. When arriving there was difficulty in finding our booking. It then took 25 minutes to be served a drink and the prosecco was flat and had to be changed - this took another ten minutes to appear. We asked for water, the waitress forgot and we had to ask again before it eventually arrived. The waitress said they were very busy - well the same price is charged for food and drink whether they were busy or not, so this is not an excuse. There is an incessant ringing of the bell, presumably to advise service staff when meals are ready to be served, but this was really annoying and disturbing throughout our meal. All in all this was not a good experience

First they didn’t even have record of our booking. Then we asked for multiple things such as water for the table, the bill etc multiple times and we just weren’t given it. We weren’t offered dessert menu and when we asked for one they seemed annoyed. Just a mess.

The Merchant of Venice Loseby Lane Leicester is always a warm and welcoming place to sit and relax with friends and family. Great atmosphere, wonderful food and very friendly staff who make sure you have everything you need. Looking forward to returning very soon.

We enjoyed the restaurant and the food was very good, but was a little disappointed has we understood that they do pasta Tuesday offer, but wasn’t offered any menu or deal that offered this.

Waited 15 minutes to be seated on a dirty unset table, waited over an hour for mains, the food was then clearly microwaved and cold in places. The prawns were like rubber and carbonara insanely oily. After explaining the manager repeatedly asked us to give them another chance, even following us out of the restaurant into the street. Would not recommend, there’s much better places in Leicester for an Italian.

Felt we were sat outside, not the cosy atmosphere I expected. Service was slow

Despite arriving 5mins early for our reservation, our table was not ready. We waited for 25mins+ to be seated. Only our original table was downstairs but then we were moved to their outdoor/ indoor covered cabana area. It was cold in Dec. Their little radiators did nothing to raise the temp with cold drafts coming from the floorboards, which was actually decking, and from the makeshift wooden walls. We were cold for the duration of our meal, despite being asked to move, this was looked into, but never happened. The meals were ok, my chicken dinner came with half a chicken breast in a small watery cream sauce with two pieces of asparagus and some veg . No potatoes - lucky we ordered homemade chips. What was supposed to be a good night out, was cold, cold, cold with little empathy or support to try and accommodate our wishes to sit in a warm area of a restaurant. Bring a coat or a radiator and a blanket if you are seated at the back because you will freeze in the colder months. Sorry

Food was very good. Only complaint was that we ordered starters and main courses and are mains came first, We had to point out that we had not yet had our starters.

The level of service was 10/10 the food was 10/10 the venue is very beautiful and I’ll definitely be coming back. Thank you for such a wonderful experience

Food was good but service was shocking. Arrived 10 minutes early then waited 20 minutes for menu. Asked 3 times where our main course was as people arriving after us were being served before us. We were offered a complimentary dessert but this took so long to come we were leaving the restaurant so they put it in a bag for us to take away!

Food nice. Service very very slow. Over an hour passed from sitting down at our table to the staff taking our food orders. Couldn’t find a staff member to take a dessert order so gave up in the end! Staff friendly. Magician brilliant.

We were blown away by Reno, so entertaining, very welcoming. The food was delicious, we didn't want it to end. We sat on the swings, we had so.much fun. We will return, thank you to Mahp x

The staff were lovely and very attentive. Some of them have got photographic memories, remembering our order without writing it down. Impressive. The food is so nice as well. Everything very good and will deffo come again.
