Staff forgot to put our order through to the chef and so my wife waited 30mins longer for her food. By the time the food arrived all our other meals were cold to eat as we waited for my wife's meal to arrive. Overall a very disappointing experience especially on Mother's Day!
lovely food, great staff, very friendly, always go there when in the area.
Enjoyed our pasta dishes apart from the garlic bread - was a just a garlic flavoured slice of toast Difficult to move a pushchair around due to being a small space No baby changing facilities so had to change my baby on the toilet floor Service was slow but staff were nice
Great atmosphere, lovely authentic food, great service, will be returning.
Had to leave after half hour of waiting, didn’t even get seated
Quandoo is closing down. This is a planned, phased process and our platform remains available until 30 September 2026.
A bit disappointed especially being Mothering Sunday. Looked at your menu and was hoping to order from the menu, but we were presented with a Brunch menu. Although the food was tasty it's not what I hoped to have for lunch.
When for a nice birthday meal, they put us in empty back room, felt isolated. Food was ok.
Great atmosphere and decor. Food tasty, great portions and price. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Recommend.
We went to Merchant of Venice for my birthday. We had an amazing time. The food was delicious and the staff went all out to make it a special evening! Looking forward to going back again soon.
Wonderful food in a lovely environment. Great service too, with helpful staff.
Lovely atmosphere and fantastic food. We had a great experience and will be coming again
Food was amazing so tasty. Service was polite however the wait for drinks was quite long. Won't put us off though we will return in the future
My first visit and wow. The food, atmosphere and service were all amazing! I wasn't expecting live music nor a magician whilst I ate. Not having a vast menu definitely made my dining experience feel easier. I can't wait to go back. And highly recommend this wonderful place.
Lovely - polite friendly staff. Food was delicious! Highly recommended x
Delicious food, good choices, friendly staff, excellent service. Thank you.
Very welcoming, attentive but not intrusive, food is fabulous. 4 ladies who lunch love it here.
Overall we had a good time and I can’t complain about the food or service however we were sat downstairs and it was absolutely freezing. Despite bringing this to the attention of the server on numerous occasions and him doing everything in his power that he could do, we were told there was nothing else that could be done. This ruined what could have been a great experience.
Friendly and professional service. Nice atmosphere. Great food. Definitely recommended.
Best pasta in Leicester it’s worth the visit to the centre and the staff are really nice! Lovely atmosphere and interview too. We will be coming back!
service quite slow, but nice food and atmosphere. good price, too.
Food wasn’t as nice as I expected. I had the lamb chops which were dry and tough. The gravy wan lumpy. I was also charged for a garlic bread which I didn’t order.
Long wait and service wasn't great. Cheesecake still frozen in the middle.
The main food and dessert were amazing / bruschetta abit disappointing . Atmosphere was lovely very romantic and intimate
Lovely atmosphere and food service was very good. Would recommend.
Arrived at 8.00pm, ordered drinks and main course. Drinks arrived 25mins later after chasing staff twice. 15 minutes later the waiter arrived to say "unfortunately our food order did not go through to the kitchen so could we please reorder". 25 minutes later our food arrived which fortunately was very tasty. Overall a strange visit but we are likely to try it again. Disappointed that no member of management came to discuss our experience
Food Amazing , staff fabulous Rino great character , will be back , thankyou Rino, Mr Mancini !!!!
Great service from the staff - very busy Saturday night but that didn't compromise the quality of the food. Lovely atmosphere.
Great lunchtime experience, food great, lovely atmosphere, first time visited was Leicester restaurant week. will be back
Food was really good and also good value for money. Magician was fantastic!
A lovely breakfast in a nice atmosphere well cooked food and beautifully presented
A very warm and welcoming atmosphere with great food and service.
My granddaughter & myself had a wonderful meal sitting on the swing seats. It was her birthday treat as we had been shopping & she had requested to come here after being unsuccessful last year as they were fully booked. We were not disappointed the food was amazing & the hospitality was to. Thank you all
What an amazing evening at The Merchant of Venice in Loseby Lane last night. Thank you so much to the staff for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food was really tasty and plenty of it. Fabulous lighting and great live music. We'll be back!
Office dinner party. Good service. Great meal. We loved it
Fabulous food and atmosphere. Great friendly service. Will come back again.
Made booking on Tuesday 6th January by Thursday 8th January my booking had not been confirmed took me to send a message to Merchant of Venice to see why it not been confirmed they apologised for delay and confirmed my booking then. So come Saturday 10th January arriving at the Merchant of Venice about 5:25 for our 5:30 booking only to find my name was on the table plan total missed off. Then finally seated at the back of the restaurant in the bar area and was so cold where we was seated was a leak. Not pleasant at all also request street level with no steps where we was seated had to go up steps. Total experience unstatisfactory not enough staff on for a busy Saturday evening. I had chops which under cook
We were "outside" area but wasn't told and it was very cold. Birthday not acknowledged despite advising on booking. Service was extremely slow and unattentive, albeit think probably new waitress, but atiod talking rather than even asking if we wanted dessert Thank goodness for the lovely Gracie who pulled the service back around. Food was fine couldn't fault it. I wouldn't make a special effort to go again but would go if I was in the area.
Fabulous meal and service! Thank you! The lasagne is a must try and a firm favourite of mine!
Fantastic service and food 👌. Would deffo recommend to friends and family.
Lovely food and excellent service. I even had a dessert with a candle on for my birthday. We will be back.
Service was great and the food was lovely. Will definitely be going back.
Excellent coffee and food, a bit of a quiet mid afternoon period and staff could have checked on us a little bit more, but great visit overall and would be very keen to return
Lovely, warm, cosy vibe. Staff where friendly and polite. Food was brilliant, good price too.Really enjoyed my evening with friends. Will definitely be going again.
Great food, but service was lacking on our visit, despite it not being very busy.
Lovely place, great service lovely surroundings. Will definitely visit again.
It is rare that I do not leave a tip, but this was a disaster. I booked several weeks ago. When arriving there was difficulty in finding our booking. It then took 25 minutes to be served a drink and the prosecco was flat and had to be changed - this took another ten minutes to appear. We asked for water, the waitress forgot and we had to ask again before it eventually arrived. The waitress said they were very busy - well the same price is charged for food and drink whether they were busy or not, so this is not an excuse. There is an incessant ringing of the bell, presumably to advise service staff when meals are ready to be served, but this was really annoying and disturbing throughout our meal. All in all this was not a good experience
First they didn’t even have record of our booking. Then we asked for multiple things such as water for the table, the bill etc multiple times and we just weren’t given it. We weren’t offered dessert menu and when we asked for one they seemed annoyed. Just a mess.
The Merchant of Venice Loseby Lane Leicester is always a warm and welcoming place to sit and relax with friends and family. Great atmosphere, wonderful food and very friendly staff who make sure you have everything you need. Looking forward to returning very soon.
Excellent service, excellent food, excellent atmosphere. What more can you say
We enjoyed the restaurant and the food was very good, but was a little disappointed has we understood that they do pasta Tuesday offer, but wasn’t offered any menu or deal that offered this.
