Lovely, different food for a special occasion. A first rate experience, with delicious home made breads and butter and unusual food combinations. Friendly and attentive staff without being intrusive.
My overall experience at Marewood Country House was positive: staff, food, ambience all wonderfull, however, the only negative was the room I had booked was not the room we were given: we had pre-booked a Lakeland view room and unfortunately we ended up in a small basic "back room" with no real view - the staff apologised for the booking mistake and offered us a free bottle of house wine with our evening meal. We had been looking forward to having a extra touch of luxury with the room so overall the shine was slightly taken off the stay.
Excellent meal in the fine dining restaurant. Very good value for the quality of food with reasonably priced wine list. Friendly staff and informal relaxed atmosphere.
the only problem i found is when i booked a friend told us to book resturant as when she arrived the alacarte was full because it is open to the public and she had to go out of the hotel to have a meal so book when you book your room
The daylight views from the restaurant are only surpassed by the wonderful food that is beautifully presented. With an extensive wine list & attentive but discreet staff, what's not to like? Cheap dining this isn't but quality by the bucket load it is. We look forward to returning soon
Beautiful location and wonderful food! We stayed one night in a room in the front with a view of the lake. We enjoyed the hotel and walking around the grounds. The staff were very nice.
We used the app on the website to book and although we received an automated email response the hotel didn't know we were coming. Caused quite a bit confusion on our arrival. However, the food was excellent - Michelin star quality and probably the finest dining I've experienced anywhere.
Beautiful settings for this hotel The rooms are spacious and offer required amenities. The menus for evening meals and breakfast cater for all A wonderful visit The staff are extremely pleasant and nothing is too much trouble
