It’s a tired old line for restaurants along Shaftesbury Avenue, but it’s a cliche for a reason: this is a fantastic spot for pre-theatre dinner or a debrief after the show! Milano Caffe & Restaurant is nothing new – but when you do so well with the old things, why change it? What you get at Milano is superb service, delicious food and a casual (quick if you need it to be) dining experience. With ample seating, this isn’t a shove-in/shove-out Covent Garden eatery like many others, it’s a place to take more time to enjoy beautiful Italian food – made to unique, time-tested recipes – and the joys of dining out that are too often muffled in central London. Sit, relax, swing by for dessert and wine after the show, or drop in for a business lunch or weekend breakfast.
Really tasty food, nice presentation, friendly staff however this place lacks good atmosphere. Place empty and dull. Not fun to be in. No other customers in the evening on a Friday night :/
Food was lovely, particularly the mozzarella cheese breaded balls. Service was pretty good although my partner did burn here hand under their hot water tap and had to stick her hand in ice the duration of our meal! No warning sign and could have done more to make up for it
The food was quite good but nothing special. The lasagne tasted like it had been made with a bottled pasta sauce. Could not detect any bechemal sauce.
