With charming views of the Firth of Forth and its three impressive bridges, Miramare is a South Queensferry Italian restaurant you can’t afford to miss. It’s a small place on Edinburgh Road that’s stylish and somewhat classic on the inside, with menus that always consist of a selection of fresh fish, lunch options and an evening a la carte. Miramare is quite simply one of those restaurants that seems to make you smile without even trying, and it’s rightly very popular. Do reserve a table in advance.
As we’ve already described the very charming South Queensferry setting of Miramare Italian restaurant, we’ll go ahead and give you a rundown of what you can expect from the menus. Lunch at Miramare means two courses for a very pleasant £10.95, served between noon and 2:30pm with a set menu that takes in all the Italian favourites that South Queensferry locals go wild for. For dinner, you have the whole a la carte available to you and for us it’s certainly one of the best in this part of suburban Edinburgh.
Begin with antipasti, of course – hot or cold – then move onto a homemade plate of pasta, a classically-topped pizza, meat, fish or chicken. Highlights for us? Well, you’d be very unwise to miss the rigatoni alla norcina complete with gorgeous Italian sausage, just as you would the homemade gnocchi with fresh mozzarella. Alternatively, it’s impossible to go wrong with classic Italian-style lamb chops marinated with rosemary, garlic and white wine sauce, or the fillet steak in a cream, brandy and peppercorn sauce. For a wonderfully relaxing meal out in South Queensferry and delightful views as well, Miramare should be your first choice.
We very much enjoyed our evening, on our first visit to Mirmare. Good food, great atmosphere and excellent value. It won’t be our last visit. Great find.
Relaxed atmosphere with humorous waiters who are attentive. Food was l9vely, with large potions! My partner and I went last weekend and will definitely take the kids next time!
An excellent restaurant, very friendly and welcoming. Beautiful picturesque setting and the food is excellent. Would definitely recommend. The staff are also very helpful and cannot do enough for you.
Thank you for a lovley night good was excellent service fab beautiful view had such a lovely night we will definitely be back very soon 👌😉
We had lunch from the special priced menu and it was great value. Service was great, friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Great Italian food and the pizza was given a 10/10 by those who had it. One person was gluten free and she was accommodated without any fuss and she said her food was great. Only downside is that it's a listed building and the toilets are in the basement therefore if anyone has mobility issues it is definitely a no go. We have already booked to return.
Lovely Italian restaurant. Warm and friendly staff with stunning views. No children’s menu so we had to order a full size pizza for my 4 year old which she only nibbled at. I think they do small portions of pasta.
Excellent food. Could do with a more divers dessert menu. Could do with modernising to maximise its potential. Great views over the forth and a nice night out.
We enjoyed the food and the service was good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. However the restaurant was freezing which spoiled our evening.
Very nice food, service not to good and food portion was very small. Drinks very are very expensive and was not offered dessert. Nice inside although poorly painted
