Relaxed, chilled atmosphere. Food was delicious. Try the butter fried chicken and the green fries. Yum.
The cocktails were good but the food wasn't very good quality. Dry overly dry French fries over cooked fish. The staff were friendly but took drinks before they were finished.
Good food, nice atmosphere and great venue. Relaxing and quality service.
As always, great food and really helpful waiters. Decent beer selection too.
Another great evening at Buckley's - Saturday night had a great atmosphere and the food & wine as great as ever.
Great food. Only reason for not giving full marks is due to slow service
Food was amazing but service was very poor, it's a shame as I was really looking forward to coming here. 45 minute wait for mains not good enough! No apologies or anything
The food was really tasty, the prosecco was lovely & the deserts were amazing! It has a really calming & relaxing atmosphere. Sometimes the waiters were a little slow to come over, however i think that just adds to it just being very chilled out, as you don't feel rushed to order or finish up at all. I really enjoyed it there.
Amazing service and great food / atmosphere. Will definitely return
Service was fantastic, meat was bloody great! But we did the Thursday all you can eat hangar steak and the ratio of chips to steak was verging a little on the cheeky side. Whilst I can understand they want to limit the proportion - it felt a bit like you were getting huge portion of fries but only one third of a steak each round. Otherwise was great.
Great atmosphere, great service, really nice food. Will definitely come again, hidden gem
Really good service and food. Booking was nice and easy
Ate here with friends on a Saturday night.. Very busy, buzzy, welcoming vibe, friendly staff, food not great but good enough. ( Starters were better than the mains..) Great beers and loved the cocktails.
Amazing service and great food / atmosphere. Will definitely return
I have been to Mr Buckley's a couple of times now and had a great time each time. On our last visit we were a group of 6 - three of our friends were running almost half and hour late for the booking and I was so pleasantly surprised that the staff did not try to rush us to order, eat and leave the table in under 1.5 hours - a standard practice in so many London eateries these days - you almost await for it to happen. Instead we were able to enjoy a great Friday evening - with relaxed and very friendly service, amazing and reasonably priced food. The food is sustainably sourced from local businesses - which I care a great deal about and the menu changes every month which means that each time we go there is something different to try. Will be going back quite soon to try their brunch.
Nice place, good service, good cocktails and food, just a bit cramped inside but not much they can do about that! If you're in the area, it's one of the best places you could go.
Had a really lovely evening here, the food was delicious, the staff friendly and the cocktails were spot on. Also very good lighting which is important when you're on a date ;)
Had a lovely evening. Great food, great atmosphere and very attentive staff.
wonderful service as always, although slightly longer wait for food than normal.
Lovely staff and amazing food - definitely recommend fab place
Great food and atmos. Prices were pretty good too. Would go again
Last minute booking and the first time I have been there. I took my boyfriend there for his birthday and we had a great time. Good portions if you're going out for drinks afterwards! Hidden little gem and I will definitely be returning!
Good food and a good atmosphere - good cocktail list
Always excellent food, cocktails and ambience. Highly recommend this restaurant, worth the walk down Hackney Rd. Must remember to visit more often, I'm never disappointed by the food.
Really fun bar with a great vibe and delicious cocktails. the drinks are also not too expensive which is good to know for east london.
Love this place. Gorgeous food and great service- the Onglet steak is a winner
great food and faultless service and a good atmosphere, really enjoyed it!
Chilled atmosphere, great friendly and genuine staff. The food was amazing, exactly what we wanted. Would definately visit again.
First time visiting Mr Buckley's. The restaurant has a cool vibe, great cocktails and an interesting albeit limited menu. It's definitely worth a return visit.
nice neighbourhood restaurant on hackney road. there is a nice bar downstairs. open late on weekends as well which makes it good spot for drinks and dinner as well. menu changes all the time.
Sunday brunch: The staff were really friendly and the service was excellent. Great brunch food washed down with a great bloody Mary. Free still or sparkling water is a nice touch but the 'free refills filter coffee' was too weak to enjoy a second cup. As the place filled up the chatter got louder, so the music got louder, so the chatter got louder, so the music got louder...worth bearing in mind if you're hoping for a romantic chat ;-)
Food was beautiful. Staff were amazing and very friendly and they even went out their way to make cocktails that weren't on the list! 10/10!!!
Good food and extremely lovely and welcoming staff, we really enjoyed out brunch here! Thank you!
Absolutely everything about our meal was fantastic. The food was out of this world, the service superb and the drinks brilliant. My favourite restaurant in East London goes from strength to strength and I can't wait for the menu to change so I can go back again.

Friendly, contemporary atmosphere, with simplistic decor. Excellent quality classic food with interesting ingredients, reasonable prices. Complimentary still/sparkling water a nice touch. More variety on dessert menu please (2 pear and 2 salted didn't do it for us). Great music!
Nice atmosphere, great service and excellent food! Well portioned, really well seasoned and cooked perfectly!
Another fantastic night out. Service was friendly and informal with the food nicely presented and tasty. The variety of the 'jars' are a joy to choose from. Will be back - again!!
I've eaten here several times and it never fails to impress: the imaginative menu, friendly attentive service and relaxed vibe are worth coming back for time and again. Above all the food really is superb. Do yourself a favour and pay Mr Buckley's a visit.
Very interesting space. We were 5 people and 3 of them enjoyed their meal, but my veggie friend who ordered the filo pastry said it was tasteless, and I who had the stuffed Turkey with potatoes found it dry and tough. The potatoes were a bit undercooked and I couldn't eat much of anything. The bread and starters were good.

Nice interior and atmosphere, very good breakfast food though french toast maybe a bit burnt, but we had a big group and everyone was really happy with the food otherwise. Good bacon too by the way! Good service. A huge plus for the free refills of filter coffee, this is rare and I really appreciate it! Would come again for brunch for sure!
Best place on hackney road for dinner, drinks and music. Includes a late night license too.
Fantastic food, great atmosphere. Table was REALLY wobbly but waitress tried her best to fix it
We felt that the restaurant promised a lot, but didn't actually deliver. When you read a menu like that, you get excited, but actually the food was underwhelming, considering the price too. To give some examples, the butternut squash in our starter was completely tasteless, the dauphinoise potatoes was like a dry roast potato, the medium steak was bleeding all over the plate and not tender and everything lacked seasoning. Being people who cook and get fed by their friends we feel it shouldn't be that hard to make a squash taste good. When we tried to give immediate, friendly feedback, we were informed by the waiter that the manager would come over, as that's the procedure. We waited ten minutes and were then informed by the waiter that 'the drinks would be taken off the bill', when in fact SOME of the drinks were taken off. It was a slightly confusing situation and we felt unhappy that the manager wouldn't come over and speak to us. What we ended up feeling was that our experience didn't matter. If you put something on the menu, you should be able to execute it and if you can't, as things do go wrong, don't make your customers feel bad for pointing out. The experience was slightly saved by how helpful and understanding one of the staff was at the end, but overall, the evening felt slightly sluggish and considering I'd been to Mr. Buckley's two times previously and had a lovely time, I was very disappointed indeed. I wish we'd just gone for a kebab.
Very good but unfortunately portions were too small but the value.
Mr Buckleys is such a great little place, full of personality, good music and a young creative feel. I've had many a great evening here and an enjoyable birthday meal last year. It's a good spot for breakfast too. Unfortunately though, the service is a bit hit and miss, and on this occassion my partner and I were disappointed with how we were served, which wasn't very well. In short, when you have 3 tables of 8+, it is important not to ignore the smaller parties. There's an art to balancing a relaxed feel with good service and I don't think Mr Buckleys has mastered this.
We had a great time. Our waiter was really friendy without being overbearing or pushy
Good service and food. The atmosphere was pleasant and busy.
Small but cosy, Mr Buckley's is a great place for a group party - excellent food, service, ambiance! We all had such a fantastic evening and the staff handled a big group in full festive spirits extremely well.
Excellent breakfast, let down by terrible service. We did a lot of the waiters' jobs for them, getting our own menus, hunting down sugar etc. But there's only so much you can do. Noone knew where our booking was, 3 dishes came a good 5 minutes before the last one, a pudding came without its chantilly cream, which the chef proceeded to make after we asked about it, and noone seemed clear on what a filter coffee was. It can't be helped - the many aspiring actors (who mostly also own their own cat-themed knitting magazines and have designed the next big gif app that's just about to take off) working here have much more important things to do than learn the difference between still and sparkling water. But worth noting as it could let down the experience if you want a hassle-free breakfast. As for the food, it's all beautiful - potato and courgette rosti are a particular treat. And if you do want a boozy breakfast, what better place than a cocktail bar?
Extremely friendly service and absolutely delicious food. Will definitely come again!
Had a fantastic birthday brunch at Mr Buckley's - excellent value for excellent food. The cocktails were a bit pricey, but they were delicious as well. The waitstaff was very patient with our large group - and were accommodating despite my own lateness to the party (thanks a lot, TfL!). I'd definitely recommend their brunch to friends.
