We went to Mussel Men for the amazing sunday seafood 'roast'. It was a fantastic day - sitting out in the patio in the sunshine. Started with their lovely free bread, and special bloody mary recipe. When the food came, it was a delicious pile of seafood - mussels, scallop, crab, clams = incredible. The meal was quite expensive in the end, but great for a special treat.

The food came hot and ready to go, the garlic on the mussels was fantastic. The service was occasionally a bit slow but didn't ruin the experience

underwhelmed by the food. seemed expensive (7.5 for 3 oysters?). wrong wine added to our bill. conflicting prices on the 4 menus on our table (we were charged the higher one!).

cozy setting, good choice of dish (seafood, small dishes as well as starters and mains), well presented but also delicious. Had oysters from Ireland, excellent homemade bread with smoked butter (!), and bouilabaisse - fish beautifully cooked, delicious broth, sweet mussels....should not have shared it! Want to try the rest of the menu. Good music choice, not so loud that you cant hear yourself speak. Thanks to the cook and staff!

Good place for casual gathering. Mussels are a bit smaller than expected.

Lovely restaurant in Dalston with super friendly staff, a great atmosphere, tasty mussels. Menu is very reasonably priced - for both food and drinks. Would recommend!

We'd booked for the promoted 'Lobster night' on the first Tuesday of the month. I got a call on the morning to say they didn't have any lobsters because it had been a bank holiday Monday and the boats hadn't been out. How this couldn't have been foreseen, I don't know. We went anyway and were reasonably well looked after although some drinks chasing was needed. My main course arrived almost 10 minutes before the three others which was a bit rubbish. The food was good though, just a little cold. I'd wanted to try this place for ages but feel a bit disappointed.

Been to this place a few times and like it a lot. Nice decor, super-friendly staff and very tasty food - but I think perhaps portion size has shrunk a little and prices have gone up a notch - so not good value for money anymore. Still great though.

I love Mussel Men and have been back several times now. Their mussels and their oysters are the best in town. I tried the bouillabaisse for the first time, and that was a bit disappointing - it was very fishy and not very well seasoned. Every thing else was beautiful. Especially the poached squid!

We had booked a table for two for Tuesday evening and it was great to see that the restaurant was fully booked. The welcome is always great and when we sat at our table we received our menus and free water. After we ordered our food we received fabulous bread and smoked butter ( so fantastic). We loved our starter of Crab Waldorf and Potted Crayfish. The main course was severed very timely and we enjoyed our Salmon and Monkfish. The menu always offers a great choice of fish and seafood. We have to thank Kirsty , Joanna and the team for a wonderful dining experience here in our local Dalston. We live close by and will be back very soon. Oh, and the live music was also great.

Excellent food, excellent cocktails, excellent staff. Not much more I could have asked for! Pro tip: try the Monkfish, easily the best seafood dish I've had in London.

This is a great place - food was delicious - we went on the monthly lobster night and had a boulle base with a tasty but small scallop starter. The service was friendly and tho not amazing was adequate. It's really the ambience that set this restaurant apart from anything nearby - the decor, outfits and live music add real charm and originality and it a fun meal out. Would definitely recommend.

Food and drink quality was excellent, far above our expectations. But the establishment itself was not comfortably furnished and the service was a bit disorganized.

The most delicious seafood in the city at the best price. We went to Mussel Men when it was just a pop up and it was good then, now it is even better. The most delicious mussels (we had the cider & chorizo), plus perfectly crispy skinny fries and the beautifully cooked and amazingly presented cod that deserves a michelin star! The oysters are also a MUST try, with the option of English, Scottish and Welsh origin, with the shallot vinegar they were just amazing. Will be back very soon to try out the Sunday seafood roast!

Fantastic established pop-up feeling restaurant, great atmosphere and had a great seat watching the staff bringing out delicious fresh fish. The waitress was super friendly and knowledgeable, evening helping us choose drinks to match our starters! Great cosy venue!

The restaurant itself generally has a great atmosphere and lovely staff but the food quality and value has definitely gone down, which is a shame as I was a big fan of Mussel Men. Mussels mariniere was bland and not good, starters are on the small side and one of the waiters started clearing one of our plates while the rest of us were still eating, which seemed a bit odd. Great concept and hopefully the mussels will get back to being really good!

Oyster were beautiful as always, but I felt like the Mussels weren't up to their original standards unfortunately. They weren't as fresh as they normally are. Also they were out of their Pale Ale and even though I understand these things sometimes happen, there should be another alternative - like a bottled Pale Ale. The band on a Sunday is lovely, albeit at times a bit too loud.

Lunch booking - great music and helpful, upbeat and knowledgeable staff. We ordered two moules mariniere, one traditional and one with garlic butter, both cooked perfectly and with plenty of parsley. The tarte tatin - made to order - was simply faultless. Can't recommend highly enough!

Over all it was good and the food was really delicious. The service was a little slow though and some things weren't available. The seafood roast is meant to come with Yorkshire puddings but nobody was given them due to a problem with the oven. This wasn't really a problem but nobody was told and we had to ask where they were. Instead I asked for 1 extra bread roll and was charged for it which I thought was a little unfair. The fish was lovely though and they were accommodating when I was a little late for my reservation. I would definitely recommend it!

Great "Sunday Roast" platter of seafood with roast veg, although a shame none of the promised Yorkshire puddings were forthcoming (nor any apology for their absence). The Sea Sir cocktail is worth a visit alone!

The food is fantastic - and great service! Really attentive and friendly. A relaxed atmosphere also meant we didn't feel rushed even as the restaurant got much busier. Will return as much as possible.

Our party of 3 Visited MM on mothers day having heard good reviews from others however we were unfortunately left disappointed. Although the guys were extremely warm and friendly, the service was quite slow (for 3 courses we had to wait nearly an hr and a half), the portions sizes were disappointing (the crab waldorf salad was tiny compared to the chowder but for the mains, the lobster linguine was huge compared to the monkfish), and some of the dishes weren't very tasty. I am unsure whether the above is due to the menu created especially for mother's day but we were quite diaappointed.
