Lunch booking - great music and helpful, upbeat and knowledgeable staff. We ordered two moules mariniere, one traditional and one with garlic butter, both cooked perfectly and with plenty of parsley. The tarte tatin - made to order - was simply faultless. Can't recommend highly enough!
Fantastic food, very modern and delicious, and great service, perfect, will be back soon! The menu is very original and the chef is definitely passional about food. Great experience.
Great place, great atmosphere, lovely staff... really good quality tasy food, although the portions were a little small for the price, but overall really happy and will definitely be back there to eat again!
Great service, friendly staff & awesome seafood. Will definitely be back!
Bloody brilliant and I would highly recommend. Food was amazing.
Delicious food and drinks and the live music was really cool. Very chilled atmosphere. Could have done with some bibs as we went on lobster Tuesday...
Wonderful food and a fabulous live band. A great place to spend a Sunday evening, enjoyed it so much we have already booked to go back.
Over all it was good and the food was really delicious. The service was a little slow though and some things weren't available. The seafood roast is meant to come with Yorkshire puddings but nobody was given them due to a problem with the oven. This wasn't really a problem but nobody was told and we had to ask where they were. Instead I asked for 1 extra bread roll and was charged for it which I thought was a little unfair. The fish was lovely though and they were accommodating when I was a little late for my reservation. I would definitely recommend it!
Great "Sunday Roast" platter of seafood with roast veg, although a shame none of the promised Yorkshire puddings were forthcoming (nor any apology for their absence). The Sea Sir cocktail is worth a visit alone!
What a lovely atmosphere, delicious food, we had such a lovely evening... Thank you so much! We look forward to coming back again very soon...
We love coming back to this restaurant. The staff is super friendly and the Mussels are to die for. We'll be back again and again.
Lovely food lovely atmosphere lovely people. We had a lovely evening celebrating my mums birthday.
Amazing. every course was delicious and the service is the best in East london! Go to mussel men
Great service, great food and great atmosphere. Love the smoked butter and amazing portion sizes.
The food is deliscious and the team is amazing! Will definitely come back there!
Nice overall, mussels were ok, not great, cocktails were awesome as were the starters. Quite pricey.
Great atmosphere, delightful service, fantastic food-really fantastic-, great cocktails and best desserts I've EVER had! Terrif!
This is a lively place with a great atmosphere. The team is really friendly and obviously enjoys looking after customers. They take real pride in their seafood, the oysters were excellent and the mussels really plump and satisfying. They made us mean cocktails too!
delicious fettucine! service was lovely and the mussels were great - the sauces in the pots delicious :) nice cute little place definitely worth a visit
Lovely food and service. Would definitely recommend and will be back soon!
WE went on a Sunday, they do an incredible 'seafood roast'. Not a roast a tall but a beautiful seafood platter with all the usual roast trimmings. Good value for £25 we thought. We went in a big group with a vegetarian which was unwise but the chef rose the the challenge and whipped up something nice for her on spec which she really enjoyed. Nice service, nice environment, will go back for sure.
Lovely atmosphere, welcoming and friendly staff and to top it off the food was fantastic! Highly recommend the oysters and an Irish coffee to finish off the meal. We'll definitely be back.
The atmosphere was great - good music and not too noisy and the staff were very friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. Drinks were good and well priced too. However, it was the food that let this place down. Starters were good - the soft shell crab starter was well done and langoustines were tasty although very small in size. But the mains were lacking flavour. I had the mussels with thai curry sauce. The mussels were plump but they were sat in what can only be described as thai curry flavoured water...not saucy at all and hardly any flavour - pretty bland and boring. My other half had the seafood linguine which was a massive portion of pasta mixed in with a smoky seafood sauce and some mussels placed on top. No prawns, squid, clams or chunks of fish which you would normally expect in a seafood linguine...it was a bit of a chore to eat and again, very boring. The place has potential with it's enthusiastic staff and ambiance but if the food is not up to scratch, I couldn't recommend this to a friend.
Had a table of 9 at the back. Very accommodating! Great atmosphere, food and service. Such a simple menu what can go wrong? Large plump mussels. Fresh oysters. Cold prosecco. Happy days!
first time when i went mussel men it wasn't so packed the serves was impeccable the food was so on point and i would of give an overall rating of 5 but this time i went there the place was packed and it seemed more like a bar than somewhere to eat, the serves was poor had two different waiters because the first one kept forgetting what the my table ordering the music felt like was in a rave and we order the food which i remember being so delicious the last time i was there, was nowhere near just top the night for me. maybe just an off night i hope.
We went on a Sunday which was a great experience. My boyfriends teenage girl loved every minute and particualry enjoyed the thumb wrestle at the end of the meal. We did think that the amazing chips would be a better accompaniment to the seafood platter instead of the Sunday roast veg. The atmosphere is great and the staff are always on had and extremely helpful. Its a fanatstic place to spend the evening and I would thouroughly recommed it to anyone who loves a good time and fabulously fresh seafood cooked to perfection.
The staff are friendly and helpful. The food is great as well. All in all a great restaurant.
Lovely ambience, really friendly staff & great food. Definitely will go back to try a Sunday roast.
Great place to spend a Sunday afternoon. The staff were all very friendly, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the moule frites was excellent! A little bit disappointed with the salt fish croquettes (more potato than anything else) but everything else was great!
Great customer service with great cocktails and ultimately amazing mussels!
Fantastic low key service, great quality simple ingredients cooked well and lashings of fun! What more do you need? They have ginger beer and mussels! That's prettyuch everything you need right there
I took my friend here as a birthday present and it delivered on all accounts. Fantastic food, service and atmosphere, a must for all seafood lovers! Could not recommend this place more.
The food is great and the cocktails brilliant. Love the nice and cozy atmosphere and music. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommend.
After reading a review about Mussel men it sounded like the perfect place to take my girlfriend who absolutely loves mussels. We were both not disappointed. The food was cooked to perfection my girlfriend demolished her generous bowel of mussels in a thai curry sauce and I may now be an oyster convert! No faults whatsoever. The staff are extremely friendly and attentive and contributed to a great evening. This is a place that I plan to visit time and again. The cocktails too were amazing. Congrats to the team at Mussel men.
Whilst the food was excellent, and well priced, dont expect any kind of service you would ever expect as standard in a restaurant. Water at your table? Nah. Cutlery? Forget about about it. Drinks you ordered 20 minutes ago? Best ask again to be sure. But if you can put up with all of that the food is very, very good and cheap too. Still, no excuse for the poor service which is made all the more shameful as the staff were very nice just not very well trained.
It was our first visit to this restaurant and it was fantastic there were six of us and the service and food was truly wonderful. We shall be going back again.
Great food, great service. If you like your seafood it's a great place to go!
excellent food, great cocktails and perfect service. I like that the food menu is not large as what you get is cooked to perfection.
Love this place but this time the marinieres werent so tasty, no bowl for shells
If you are looking for some of the best sustainable seafood that London has to offer, then you have to check out this place - and it will get served to you with high service and a smile. I can't wait to come back to this place!
Great place! Very good food and lovely staff. Will definitely be going back!
Great friendly service. Lovely food and good wine selection! Would definitely visit again!
fantastic service and food! great atmosphere will definitly be back
Amazing food, amazing location, and amazing staff. Extremely friendly, dedicated and always serving with a smile. This will become one of my regular places when out and about in Dalston.
Delicious food, lovely staff, we will definitely be back again
Nice venue, very friendly staff, poor over-priced food. Lobster was not well cooked and way too small for the price. £28 for one tail and just the one claw, so shared between two your looking at £14 for what amounts to a large underwhelming prawn. Oysters were nice but a gin dressing which sounded intriguing on paper was unpleasant in practice. Was so hungry when I left I seriously considered a kebab, but settled for a chicken sandwich at home. Nice wine, nice chips, nice staff, and that's all.
Great food, lovely staff, yummy cocktails. We are definately going back.
Whilst Mussel men is styled well, has very friendly and fun staff, and offers great cocktails, my wife and I were left disappointed with the food and the prices. 6 half langoustines were much smaller than any I've had elsewhere, and all were berried (pregnant) which made for a disappointing starter. Thankfully the oysters went some way to counterbalancing this, as they were tasty. The mussels mariniere were unfortunately below average, with a large number that weren't properly cooked or still closed - certainly worse than most I've had anywhere else, and for a restaurant with 'Mussel' in it's name, I'd hoped this would be a speciality. We asked for some bread to soak up some of the mussel broth, but were told regretfully the oven wasn't working so bread couldn't be arranged. Finally with one dessert off the menu (due to the oven problem) we opted for the chocolate and cherries which was tasty, but small for the £5.50 price tag. After a thumb war with Captain Bob, which certainly injected some fun to the proceedings, we still left feeling that the food had not lived up to our hopes, and everything had cost slightly more than it was worth. Perhaps we were unlucky on our visit, or perhaps the bridge between pop-up success and permanent establishment hasn't quite been made by the Mussel men.
Portion size of sea bass was a bit on the small side but otherwise food was delicious and friendly service
The food was ok but lobster portions small compared to similar establishments. The service was poor, the waitress we had clearly could not be bothered. I really was looking forward to trying this place but it was all rather average.
