Lovely pub, really friendly service and we had a great lunch. Thank you!
Friendly pub; good service, food and beer; lovely log fire
Lovely friendly staff and we really had a fantastic meal
Great food, happy friendly staff , highly recommended by us 👍
Food was tasty and very filling. Will be back soon.
Very friendly. Food was great . Service was very helpful and cheerful . Would go back .
It was a hot day but early in the evening so the restaurant wasn't full, the beer garden was and had been busy and the staff were clearly tired, stressed and struggling with collecting and cleaning glasses. While we had sympathy for that we felt that we were ignored for a long while, not told about the specials or given the children's menu until we had already chosen our food. The food was fine but very over priced, they really have a captive audience, the meals are basic and even having peas with fish and chips costs extra. In the end the service was friendly and we had table service for our extra drinks but this didn't make up for an ultimately disappointing experience.
The food was lovely... The atmosphere was great... And the staff were brilliant...
We had such high hopes, the website and the menu and the look of the place made us think we were in for a real treat. The pie was recommended and (although expensive) was very good, the other food was almost unpalatable, we did not want to fuss and be miserable so did not do anything dramatic like sending it back. when we mentioned our disappointment at the end there was no move to do anything about it - I guess we live and learn.
Food is OK, but more than £15 for fish chips and peas is way too high, when the quality is nothing more than average. Toilet areas not particularly clean either, for which there is no reasonable excuse. Shame really as it looked like a place with good potential.
Great food and drink, lovely staff, good value and dog friendly. What more could you want?!
Nice people but ordered fish and chips and had to pay a supplement for a portion of peas. That was a first. The peas were hard and the chips were not sufficiently cooked. The wine was expensive and not nice. Sorry. Too expensive for what we had. Doubt we’ll return.
Enjoyable food. Coffee very strong. Good car park. Pleasant staff.
Fantastic service and wonderful food. Possibly the best gravy we ever tasted!
Excellent food, warm and welcoming service and very family friendly. Our children loved the food and the Sunday lunch was delicious. Excellent selection of gin!
Food is ok. Friendly staff. Triple fried chips not as nice as they should have been. Venison pie was a lot of soggy pastry and not much venison.
Went for Sunday lunch but food below par, beef tasty but very difficult to cut with ordinary knife also chewy with some gristle. It could be a one off but it has put me off going again for food. So a 2 for food with an extra point for good beer and friendly staff.
Booked in for Sunday lunch the beef was like shoe leather😡landlady agreed it was very poor as her husband had complained about the quality as well.! Despite this no offer of a refund or discount was forthcoming
On this occasion the main was very ordinary, but couldn't fault the dessert or service. Have had very good mains in the past, so still happy to go back.
A very nice traditional pub kept in good order, clean and very friendly. Dogs welcome in fact Landlady came out to meet ours and feed him some treats. Prices seemed a bit steep but we're not used to the going rate in the area. Overall I would recommend to others and would certainly visit again if we're back that way,
Great little pub very friendly welcome. Varied menu including some Gluten free and reasonably priced. Lovely waitress looked after us Definetly worth a visit .
There was a very friendly welcome, good food, extensive menu at the right price with good portion size nd we would definately visit this pub again
Food rather average. Seemed to struggle when busy. Could do with adding some healthier options to the menu. On a positive note nice setting and outdoor seating area
Excellent food and service served in a beautiful old country pub. Portions were large but at the same time the quality of the food was excellent.
