There were very young children in this evening and weren’t sitting at their table, so as we were were right next to the sofa they seem to a bit too close to us and loud. It does have an overall affect on how you enjoy your dining experience. Our main courses were a bit bland. The staff were lovely though and it has a quirky style and very clean.

We were party of eight at 5.30pm on 26th February and had to ask them to make sure we were out in just over an hour. Although they were concerned they managed to get our food out promptly and nothing was too much trouble. The staff were delightful and the food is to die for. We did not realise that they had a two/three course meal on and what great value at under £10 for two courses. We are quite a fussy lot and eaten all over the world and everybody was saying how much they enjoyed it and wanted to return to Haddington just to eat at No 7. All the food was delicious.

For a Tuesday evening it was busier than we expected. Four tables with a party of six, a couple, a family of three and our own party of four. Two young guys waiting on - both very polite, checked that the food was to our liking. Timings just right for receiving courses and having plates cleared afterwards. The food itself was traditional but really tasty. I had the aubergine pakora with a dip to start followed by fish and chips. Two courses was £ 9.95 - great value. I also had rice pudding for dessert that was good too. Will go again.
