Inspired by her time living abroad in Greece, restaurateur and foodie Jean Oliver decided to open up Olive Affaire to share her passion with the people of Sunderland. Having learned how to cook from the village elders during her stay on the Greek Isles, Oliver aims to share the most authentic dishes with the local community. Serving up authentic Greek cuisine made from scratch, Olive Affaire Greek Restaurant is a humble, family-run restaurant that honours the traditions of authentic Greek cuisine, a favourite among local foodies as well as Greek customers who always feel right at home when visiting the restaurant. You’ll find it located on John Street in the city centre – booking a table in advance is recommended.
Pleasant surroundings, friendly staff, limited but very good menu. The food is presented well and is tasty, with good sized portions, the overall ambience is relaxing. A restaurant worth visiting not just once.
Fantastic food, had a 6 dish meze and it was wonderful. The soft shell crab is unbelievable. Service was quick, friendly and attentive would recommend this little gem to anyone who wants Greek food

Fantastic food, friendly service, pleasant decor. Recommend the Ionos if you like Pinot Grigio! Only complaint is chairs could do with being more comfortable but thats not enough to deter us from coming back!
Fantastic food, lovely atmosphere. A wide range of Greek dishes on offer, portions are very generous. Child friendly and staff so welcoming. Would definitely return
