Chinese food in the Dear Green Place can often appear as an afterthought, but down on Pollokshaws Road in Pollokshields, Panda House are flying the flag for the Far East. Their menu is classically Cantonese, and packed with favourites such as beef with green pepper in black bean sauce, roast duck in plum sauce, crispy shredded beef and pork with cashew nuts. They’re easy to get to – take the train from Glasgow Central to Pollokshields West or Queens Park – and they’re open from half past four til late every day, so book yourself a table and set a course for a Chinese banquet to remember.
