We ordered a lamb roast dinner, unfortunately the lamb was very fatty and the little bit of meat we had was chooey, very disappointed. Shoulder of lamb has to be cooked very slow.

Nice atmosphere great lunch. I would definitely try again for dinner.

Lovely staff and great ambiance ( music was brilliant) . Food was only warm at best and some dishes seems overpriced ( scotch egg) and not as described ( cheeseboard items ) . Would probably just go for drinks next time

Overall we had a good experience. Our food was well cooked and tasty. Service was good with just the right amount of waiting time between courses. All waiting staff were pleasant with the young man who helped us settle the bill at the end of the meal taking the time to chat for a few minutes. A couple of small things held our rating back; no hand towels in the ladies loo, an empty pepper pot on our table and our food could have been a little warmer. Just small points but it was only 5:30pm and not really busy. We could have asked for these things to be rectified but decided to be British about it and not make a fuss.

I really enjoyed my experience. The venue located in lovely part of the city. The food was tasty, the coffee one of the best I have tried in Liverpool. The staff and the service were superb. I also liked the atmosphere of the place.

Enjoyed our meal and lovely staff but there is a breeze and a half coming though the side door. A porch is needed!

My first visit to papillon good food, couple of dish’s bit bland, . Good choice of menu. Staff very polite and good service.

The service was good, but was very noisy and one hamburger was meant to be well done and it was still bleeding. Not sure if we will go back again.

Didn’t like the pizza - not crispy - menu a bit unappealing

Food was nice but lots of constantly cackling extremely loud women ruining the ambience. Would have appreciated staff to kindly ask them to be a bit more quiet/respectful

The food was delicious, great flavours and generous portions, which don’t often combine. But the music was too loud - why do they think we want to shout at each other all evening? But will return.

We spent a lovely 3 hours catching up with friends over a fabulous 3 course meal. The atmosphere and surroundings are lovely, service is faultless and the cocktails are superb. The menu is varied and interesting with generous portions. My only criticism would be that my main course was not as hot as I would have liked but not enough to send it back.

Great evening meal, cool gin cured salmon followed by steak. So good we will be back for brunch. Would go again if ever we are forced to visit Liverpool again.

Genuinely the nicest place I've eaten in, in a long time! Service was outstanding, two-piece jazz band created a perfect atmosphere and without a doubt served the best Negroni I've ever had. Would come back in a heartbeat.

Cold food sent back twice, very poor reaction from staff. Had to leave without eating.
