Further Information

Paradise Garden has been dishing up delicious Cantonese and Chinese dishes on Whitburn Bents Road for quite some time now, and a loyal local following attests to its high quality and superb value. With a prime beachside spot in Seaburn, Paradise Garden entices passers-by easily enough, but they usually have to be lucky – or smart, and book ahead – to nab a spot for Paradise Garden’s 3-course set lunch and evening dinner seatings, because the word is out all over Sunderland that this is a place to enjoy lovingly prepared Chinese food for incredible value.

From wan ton soup and chicken fried rice to vegetables and black bean sauce, plenty of firm Chinese favourites appear on the menu. However, you should take the chance to try some more intriguing meals available at Paradise Garden in Seaburn, particularly some of their traditional Cantonese specialties. You shouldn’t leave without at least one at the table trying the elaborate birds nest dishes (shredded potato baskets), and our choice would be that with sliced chicken Cantonese style. The range of sizzling hot plate dishes should also not be missed, and the specialty curries (king prawns, beef or chicken) here on Whitburn Bents Road are a major departure from the soups and stews more commonly found among Sunderland’s representatives of Chinese cuisine.

Always a good dining experience. The staff are pleasant and helpful. We chose additional dishes and they were happy to serve them along with our main courses.

Loved this place over the years but beginning to look a little tired and its approach a little old fashioned. Still very much worth a visit though and the staff are very polite.

It was a nice night but wasn't an awful lot to eat on the menu for three people couples and menus for four look a lot better portion wise. Not sure if we would go again.
