Disided to try this resturant as was rated one of five best resturants in London and was not disappointed. Welcome on entry was just as expected after holliday in Thialand two weeks earlier. Menu was varied well set out and not expensive. Staff friendly, perfectly decorated, freshly sented tap water with cucumber. Excellent wine list.
very nice restaurant, looks really fancy and detailed. I would go again in future
We had the banquet which was wonderful. It was a bit like a taster menu with 4 starters, 3 mains with rice and vegetables and dessert. Absolutely delicious full of subtle and interesting flavours. Ambience and service were of high quality, too. Highly recommended.
Patara is great, fabulous Thai food and excellent service. The Greek street restaurant is the most elegant of all the different London locations, the food quality is constantly very high.
The restaurant itself is lovely and the food is exquisite. However, we ordered at around 9pm, starters, drinks and mains for a group of 5. Drinks arrived promptly, starter arrived about 30mins later with only half of what we had ordered, after a further 20mins of waiting and us calling the waiter who insisted the food was being cooked did he then realise he hadn't put the order for the other half of the starters through. Another 20mins went by and the starters came. Delicious as expected. We ordered another round of drinks after and waited. At around 10:20 we enquired about our mains, again waiter explained that the food was on its way. 10:50 and still nothing, baring in mind half the restaurant was empty, again waiter insists the food was being cooked and would arrive promptly. 11:15 and the waiter explains that yet again the order was not passed on to the kitchen. Food arrived around 15-20mins later and was delicious. We were given a complimentary bottle of wine as an apology, however the second we finished our main course we were hurried out which meant we couldn't enjoy the bottle of wine and left half of it. I have heard excellent reviews about this chain, however I was really not impressed with the service and could not understand why the waiter did not check to see what was going on with our food in the kitchen instead of simply insisting it was on its way after making us wait for so long. For the price the food is worth it and there is a nice atmosphere in the restaurant. I don't know if it was just our bad luck but I won't be returning for a while.
Our first time at Patara was for dinner before the theatre. The ambiance is pleasant with soft warm lighting and plenty of staff being just-the-right-amount of attentive. We had two starters, both of which were fresh, flavorful, and delicious: Chor Muang, lilac dumplings with caramelized chicken and peanut; and Goong Sarong, spiced marinated prawns in filo pastry served with avocado, tomato, pickled cucumber, and greens. Both starters were excellent, but we were really surprised by our main dish, which turned out to be the best Pad Thai we've had. (We live in San Francisco, where there are many, many good Thai restaurants.) We saw many other dishes pass by that we'd love to try, so I imagine we'll be back here on our next visit to London.
Amazing food as always! This is one of my favourite higher-end Thai restaurants in London! Whilst not the cheapest you get what you pay for as the food is consistently delicious, simply but beautifully executed and I always struggle to make a choice on just one starter! We usually sit upstairs but last night it was full when we arrived for our booking at 7.30 so they placed us downstairs which was empty at first and so felt a bit odd. However it did so fill up! My only minor criticism is that drinks ordered took a while to make it to the table. Book this place for a treat and you won't fail to impress!! Do it in advance Thu to Sat as it's very popular.
I went for my partners birthday and the food was fantastic! I contacted the restaurant beforehand if it was ok to bring a cake in the morning of the day of my reservation to surprise my partner with. They happily agreed and on the morning I gave them the cake and candles and asked if they could bring the cake out for dessert. In the evening after our amazing meal they brought out the cake and everyone in the restaurant sang happy birthday to my partner. It was a great night and I will definitely be dining here again.
I went with a group of six people for my birthday. The menu was diverse and plenty of options for banquet, set menu or your own selection. There was also a very good drinks menu with a wide selection. We were made to feel very welcome but were not overpowered. The food was amazing, very fresh and generous portions, definitely a fine dining experience. The waiting staff found out it was my birthday and brought me a complimentary chocolate dessert with a candle! We were all very impressed with the restaurant, staff and above all food
The ambience was really nice. The food was amazing 10/10. A bit pricey but was well worth it. Best thai food i have had in ages. Order a mixed starter which cost £25 plus a tom yum soup with jumbo prawns for the hubby .Phad thai noodles with jumbo prawns patang beef were amazing. Hubby had two beers i had large glase of rose all came to £109. Oh and a side rice which we didnt even need was so stuffed and optional water bottle.
