About Pir Mahal
More about the restaurant: Pir Mahal
Pir Mahal knows its way around the Indian subcontinent in culinary terms, and the locals of Hamilton know Pir Mahal like they do the backs of their hands. They should though, shouldn’t they, because this Indian restaurant has been around since 1978. A family-run restaurant, Pir Mahal is a fixture in the neighbourhood around Brandon Street, and being right in the town centre near Hamilton Central station, it’s an easy reach for curry connoisseurs from elsewhere in the Glasgow region. Pir Mahal’s fresh new look only underlines the longevity of this stalwart operation, but it’s the warm hospitality and, of course, the exceptional food that wins customers and critics over. With a well-stocked bar and a head chef happy to create a vegetarian version of anything on the menu, Pir Mahal deserves your immediate reservation.

A family-run affair and the first and finest Hamilton Indian restaurant in Hamilton, Pir Mahal is a fixture in the neighbourhood around Brandon Street, and being right in the town centre near Hamilton Central station, it’s an easy reach for curry connoisseurs from elsewhere in Glasgow. A winner, we’re sure you’ll agree, before you’ve even got to the restaurant itself or even the food. Speaking of which, the Indian food at this Hamilton gem is always prepared with passion, love and the freshest produce that can be found.
It’s a tough job to select anything from a menu like Pir Mahal’s as standout, quite simply because it’s all fantastic, but we’ll do our best. Begin with a light and crispy pakora or something spicy from the tandoori, then prepare for the main event. Dosas are available, as are Goanese dishes, and although we can’t think of anywhere else in the centre of Hamilton serving both of those, it’s still the signature dishes where Pir Mahal comes into its own. There are many, and the kashmiri saffron and the parsee masala are our picks of the bunch.
