This is my favorite place in East Dulwich. It's creative, innovating and fantastic. Food is always excellent, service is cordial, helpful, knowledgeable and perfectly amicable. This restaurant has a tremendous potential. Its creator has great ideas and hires great chefs. It's a great platform for those who want to demonstrate their great kitchen skills. Menu changes every three months and everytime you go it's phenomenal. The wine pairing or their wine menu is fantastic. I will keep going and treat myself with good food and ambiance

Food as good as always but they were short on staff which made it painfully slow service. We ended up asking to miss the last course of the tasting menu as had lost the will to wait longer. It did then arrive but I'm afraid almost 3 hours for a 5 course tasting menu was too long for us

Food excellent. Wine very good though expensive. Ambient temperature was freezing though and silly excuses were made. Overall a very nice evening- in a fridge!

I rarely feel compelled to write reviews so overwhelmed are we these days by requests and surveys BUT the most recent experience at Platform 1 was breathtakingly good. Greeted cheerfully as ever by Chloe, the wines were as intriguing and delicious as ever but the latest iteration in the kitchen was mind blowingly good. Get there while you can, these lads are going places!

Totally amazing food Saturday evening, definitely recommend the wine flight too as you get a taster of numbers wines with each course. Service was great too.

The place and location were really nice. The only suggestion I would make would be the lack of light. The food was simply delicious. My girlfriend does not like beetroot and they make a different desert for her. We could also try the wine before ordering a full glass. For the food, we would have loved a peace of bread to eat every bit of the delicious sauce of the first meal and a bit less chicken fat for the 4th meal. Food was simply delicious!

Our dinner at Platform 1 was a very special treat. From the moment we arrived, greeted by the excellent front of house staff, to the excellent dinner along with fine little wine list, it was all so very good. Great value for money too!

Excellent tasting menu, great wine service, perfect portion size (not too big, given we had 6 courses!) Probably the best food we have had at Platform 1 - the best place to eat on Lordship lane

Platform 1 in the heart of East Dulwich is a great concept that gives you you the opportunity to try amazing food prepared by young up and coming Michelin star chefs at a fraction of the cost of a Michelin star restaurant. Fodder presented us with delicious food of the very highest standard using local and UK products. The food was exceptional and the wine flight was magnificent and well thought through. The staff were warm and welcoming, polite and knowledgeable. This is a must for foodies and wine loves alike, I can't recommend it highly enough, give it a try you won't be disappointed.

Fantastic meal and great service. The tasting menu and wine accompaniment was perfectly executed and the dining experience would rival any high-end city centre restaurant.

Food was presented beautifully and the taste was extremely good. It was unbelievable that it was a pop-up restaurant. It's just music, that was too loud for my liking.

We are very excited to have found this restaurant that gives a 'platform' to up-and-coming chefs. The owner, staff and chef were extremely enthusiastic, welcoming and happy to please. We celebrated my husband's 40th birthday here and are looking forward to coming back - as the food was unique, well portioned and very tasty!

Brilliant concept and having eaten in many Michelin star restaurants this certainly compares with regards to food. The wine flight is a great accompaniment and the hostess extremely welcoming. We shall return for the next new menu for sure.

The food and wine were incredible! The "sommelier" at Platform1 is so good - she knows so much about the wine (and the people that make it) and really listens to what you like - we always love whatever she recommends! Service was a bit slow but the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff really makes up for it.

Tasting menu formula made the choice easy but the food was great anyway! Superbly original wine list helped by good staff recommendations. Attentive service and nice patio dining decor. Would definitely recommend it for the quality of the food!

Had the tasting menu. It was fine, bits of oddness - tons of hollandaise all over a delicious scallop, and a 2nd course that was basically a breakfast dish. Service - lovely team but they seemed stressed and short on time which meant e.g. Dish descriptions were perfunctory at best. Overall perfectly fine but there's much better out there.

Platform 1 provides a kitchen and audience for young chefs with grand ambitions. So you get a Michelin style tasting menu for half the price you might otherwise pay for this quality. The chefs get a chance to show off their skills and hopefully make the step from here to running their own restaurant. The chefs change every few months. The current team are Nick Ross & Max de Nahlik of Oxalis. We came on a friday night and tried their tasting menu and accompanying selection of wines from the sommelier. The cooking was all very good, especially the handmade chorizo and the braised baby lettuce. Although I won't recommend anything because they may well have changed the menu and even the chefs before too long. The serving staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The other notable thing here is that the wines are all a little bit different. Turkish, Austrian, Argentinian. This isn't a gimmick it is a nice way to experience things you wouldn't normally encounter. Which is why we opted for the 'wine flight' a different glass selected for each course. Well worth it in my view.

Very interesting restaurant. Laid back attitude- very chilled outside area - but the passion and seriousness over the food and space is obvious. Very good value. I felt the menu somewhat short but there are clear upsides to that. On this occasion I didn't quite feel satisfied- but we'll definitely be back. A lovely experience

We were surprised that only the tasting menu was on offer, there was no a la carte. The menu contained some good elements but a few dishes that really didn't work. I was looking forward to the first course of beetroot, goats cheese and horseradish as I love all of those ingredients, unfortunately the horseradish over powered everything and made it difficult to eat without stinging the back of your nose and making your eyes and nose run - not one for a first date! The egg, liver and bacon was a nice surprise and worked well as did the scallop and chirizo, the chicken too was good. The donut and coffee fredo to finish the meal were disappointing, the donut was heavy, over cooked and cold, the fredo was good. Staff were knowledgeable and friendly, although they did try to add a few extra drinks to the bill. Overall I'm pleased I've tried it, we had a good evening but not sure I'd rush back.

I have been in the restaurant many times as it is one of my favorite places in East Dulwich. The food is creative, beautiful presented, and delicious. It has never disappointed. The staff is knowledgeable, amicable, and work very hard to please the customers. Their wine list always has surprises; I for instance never drink the same wine when dine out and their wine list always has something new and different. Very good place and for the work and price in their menu this place is a jewell in the London.

We always enjoy eating at Platform 1. They have a really fresh approach to dining that delivers excellence without the pomp and ceremony. I try to book a table each time there's a new guest chef. The guys from Oxalis continue the Platform 1 promise with exciting dishes and awesome flavours. The Asparagus Tortellini and Onglet steak are incredible and the Apple Sorbet was a sublime ending to our meal!

The food was absolutely superb, the warm reception and menu/wine knowledge provided by Vanessa all ensured a perfect evening. Even a birthday 'cake' was provided with no notice which was a charming touch.

One of those places with nothing on the plate but everything on the bill. Went home and devoured a bag of Dorritos. Service was shocking too, unfortunately. Not gonna go back. Avoid.

We had been looking forward to trying Platform 1 for some time and on arrival the staff were friendly and explained the concept of the restaurant to us. The taster menu was the only option available, though they were able to substitute dishes where allergies/ special dietary requests were made. On the whole, the food was OK, tasty but nothing special, though the desert was so sour it made us pull the face of someone who had just chewed a lemon. However the portions were tiny - fine for the 3 starter courses, which together equaled a small starter in normal circumstances, but i would expect a reasonable sized main course and a desert that was more than a quenelle of sorbet and a 5cm piece of rhubarb. The service got slower and slower as our meal went on and it took 45 minutes for us to pay the bill and leave still feeling hungry. The concept of Platform 1 is an interesting one, but the execution leaves something to be desired. We won't be back any time soon - ED has plenty of other places which serve great food at a similar price level.
