Food lovely staff very helpful just me and my partner sat at our table and the table next to us was ment for 4 and a lady sat next to me nearly on my knee felt a bit intrusive but otherwise great

The table was reserved way before we arrived so when we got there 30mn in advance it wasnt a problem. We waited a long time for the food to arrive but the waiting staff were nice and the food was good. Decent portions served. The drinks were served quickly and they added a raspberry to the glass for the prosecco so it was a nice touch. Would recommend and would return. Extremely convenient for the theatre as it is on the other side of a small quiet street from it.

Good food and service. We all enjoyed our visit and will return.

Great food in Plonkers and the service is also fabulous , and the wine Really enjoyed our evening bottles of wine, cannot fault it in there.

Great steak and ale pie with a proper real ale, good full English breakfast and excellent service. A chance to catch up with friends. What's not to like?

Nice bistro food OK there was a band on who was good but not enough people in to fill the pub so was a bit flat

Delicious Sunday carvery as always, generous with portion size a fabulous variety of vegetables, extremely tasty large yorkshire puddings. Is our favourite place for Sunday roast. Welcoming family friendly fast service we'll definitely be back soon :-)

Plonkers had wonderful food and an excellent atmosphere. There was a large selection of gins on offer along with a reasonably priced wine list of good quality

Plonkers is, without a doubt, one of the nicest places in York to eat/drink. Top class service, food and atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Welcoming friendly staff. Good service. The food as always was excellent! We always eat at Plonkers prior to going to the theatre as it’s just across the road.

Really good service food was very good , just a bit noisy with people packed drinking stood up next to your table but that's the hazard of a small narrow area.

Nice atmosphere, friendly courteous staff. Little slow with the order but otherwise good food. Perfect for pre theatre meal. Reasonable value for substantial meal - will go again.

Lovely little venue. Restaurant upstairs, separate to the main bar. Friendly prompt service. Good home cooked food, and plenty of it. Nice for drinks only too.

We have been going for lunch at Plonkers for the last 6 years and have always found the service friendly and excellent and lovely food, our last experience did not let us down.

Really good carvery lunch this time, with generous portions. Great value for money, good service and couldn't fault it. Went for a relaxed lunch and that's exactly what we got. Second visit here as our daughter is at Uni and won't be our last.

As usual the food was excellent and the staff so so friendly. Highly recommended. It is our favourite place in York and never fails to make us smile.

Excellent food and service. Great selection of cask ales. Try the home made steak pie and the sticky toffee pudding, it doesn't get any better than this.

Very nice, relaxed atmosphere. Friendly service. Soup special starter (spiced winter veg) was gorgeous. A really good place for having a good quality but reasonably priced meal.

A must when your visiting york,food is amazing and great selection of beers and wines.Staff are great will do anything to help you and cater for children.

Quirky little bar, friendly staff and tasty food, we called in twice during our visit to York, Sunday lunch for a quick drink, very busy with carvers, we ate Sunday evening, much quieter, hanging kebabs were great.

Still very good. It was very busy inside and outside nut service still fine. We went specially for the fish platter but that has now gone off the menu. Had the meat and cheese platter instead. Good value

Fabulous place. Fabulous food. Fabulous staff. Cannot be faulted. Visited today and sampled the 'hanging kebabs'. Beautifully cooked and excellent value for money. Can't wait to return on our next visit to York
