Being a food lover in London has never been so exciting. A new generation of innovative and smart restaurateurs have been hitting the London scene during the last couple of years, going straight for customer satisfaction and building a legacy through taste and service. And, as always in these cases: Competition makes for happy patrons. Here's a piece of advice we're more than happy to share with you: Poppy's Place on Munster Road. A darling of critics and foodies alike, this place is guaranteed to rock your taste buds. Enjoy!
I love Poppy's Place - it used to be my absolute favourite spot to have breakfast and brunch on weekends when I lived in the area. Since I've moved away, I'm always trying to find a good excuse to go back again. Staff is lovely and always makes you feel very welcome!
ambience was good and the staff were very pleasant. Service was not as 'motivated'/efficient as it could be. The food was okay - reasonably priced. But the menu is sufficiently simple (I like that it was simple) that each dish should be amazing. The truffle mac and cheese was very bland, and couldn't really taste any truffle. I am sure it was made from scratch, but it tasted a little packet made. Venue could be really really good - at the moment it is just okay. Will try visiting again in a few weeks - it may have just been an off night.
The new generation of restaurateurs is hitting the London scene right now. Restaurant openings as
far as the eye can reach. Many owners like Scarlett Guess are brought up in the trade, her family
runs the traditional St. James spot Rowley's on Jermyn Street. With Poppy's Place being opened,
her first own restaurant a family expansion is happening on Munster Road in West London. Teamed
up with Chef Alastair Prichard she did everything right so far. Sourcing the meat direct from Lake
District farmers, only using the freshest products, he knows how to meet your culinary expectations.
He acquired the experience and knowledge from his successful catering company.
Poppy's place is serving up seasonal breakfast, brunch and lunch dishes such as hash brown and hot smoked salmon with horseradish crème fraiche, or grilled ham cheese with mustard by day. In the evening it'll transform into a candlelit neighbourhood restaurant with a menu focusing on steak. Providing this unique atmosphere it already advanced to one of the insider tips of the year 2014. Start your romantic dinner date, or the relaxed feast with friends by ordering the delicious ginger and rosemary sticky chicken wings. Everything that comes from the grill is served with house butter and unlimited chips. Don't miss out on this culinary jewel-Poppy's place on Munster Road.
