Our first visit and certainly not our last. Very nice Hungarian waiter and delightful menu. We really appreciated the politeness and efficiency of staff and enjoyed the menu. faultless
Kindly staffs and good meals. I’d like to visit again soon!
A nice venue for lunch with friends, in terms of not only quality of food and value for money but also it’s oh so convenient location and with the opportunity to combine lunch with a visit to the Gallery itself.
Good food, pleasant waiting staff and good value. Style of the restaurant has been made too contemporary, however.
Great food: flavours textures presentation Great calm yet interesting environment and helpful staff
Great food reasonably priced, good atmosphere, service v friendly but a bit slow
One of my favourite in central London. Rare haven for very good food and somewhere you can talk and enjoy. Lunchtime service can be a bit slow but all servers charming.
Great service Raodo👍👍great food great location great all round !
Food good both from point of view of quality and presentation. Service good, efficient polite and whole atmosphere relaxed Noise levels totally acceptable. Although tables set close together, because of carpeted floor no intrusion from next table's conversation. Atmosphere unpretentious and user-friendly
I always like coming to the Cafe - it's comfortable, attentive service, excellent food and relatively quiet. Always made to feel welcome.
The food was excellent but the service & ambiance was somewhat lacking
Excellent service, except that I was unable to have the precise table I had requested.
Poor service, The food was ok but expensive for what we ordered.
Nice place to dit down, easy to book on internet
One of our party has hip and knee problems. It would be really helpful if restaurants could provide chair cushions to raise seat height and make it easier for the less mobile to get to their feet.
The food was good. The waiter good. Sadly the room was a little chilly.
Excellent food and service. Would definitely recommend for lunch venue
The staff were delightful but the kitchen was very slow. We still hadn’t had our main course after 1hr15minutes and we were visiting the exhibition 15 minutes later. Food excellent though
Restaurant was cold and rather stark. Food and service fine.
Absolutely charming headwaiter; excellent drinks, starters and desert and an acceptable main course. However the service was appallingly slow
Had to send back by haddock chowder as it was cold but waiter most apologetic and replaced it with a new one that was hot.
Really like the National Cafe for lunch, food & service all fabulous and a nice place and not too crammed in. I was actually disappointed yesterday as the a la carte menu has gone and I didnt want a 2/3 course lunch and not sure I will in future. So I can’t seeing me use it for lunch to meet with pals anymore. Food, service etc were still fabulous, but it no longer serves my lunchtime need.
Very friendly and attentive service, lovely food, good atmosphere not too noisy. I always enjoy my visits to this restaurant. A fairly calm place in the heart of London.
Soup was tepid, not so good on the palate of the mouth, but main was hot, both tasty and service pleasant and efficient.
Good service and nice food Recommend it Waiter particularly good
I had duck hash which was well presented in haute cousine French manner - colourful, great taste ...not great volume.
This is a great place to go for a leisurely lunch. Plenty of space between the tables which makes it really peaceful and relaxing. The food is good and the service is pleasant, if not always speedy, but fine if you're not in a hurry.
A very enjoyable environment for long standing friends meeting in central London with friendly efficient waiting staff and good food
Very enjoyable lunch. Thoroughly recommend. Will visit again. Thank you.
no aperol no bread ran out of Provence rose not much atmosphere , for a Friday night in central London
Excellent food an superb service. Will come back, Great place.
I had booked the National Cafe but was directed to the National Dining Tooms where the menu is more limited and not suitable for my friend
Easter lunch with family - just right for the middle of the day
