Very good food. Service was good. Lovely place and nice staff.

Food was lovely however I feel like we got absolutely stung with drinks £10 for a vodka and cranberry juice and £6 for a koppaburg is ridiculous. Also being offered sauce with our steak and not being told it was extra is a bit cheeky as well.

Excellent quaity food,loads of it. Great service great atmosphere. Memerable evening.

Food was excellent but on arrival the waitress apologised for the location of our table. I appreciate maximising on space but you can’t put a table surrounded by people waiting to be seated and adjacent to a live musician. Apparently he was told to keep the volume down when we arrived, which is not great for him or for the rest of the diners, just don’t put a table there. We didn’t stay long and won’t be going back.

Love it here, love the food and the ambiance and setting. Best Turkish along all of this part of Essex for sure. Such a vibe.

We were in a hurry and the waiter was courteous and brought the food quickly. We had the lunchtime meal deal which was very good value.

Beautiful 3 courses for £35 !! Sea bass to die for highly recommend and staff so helpful- me and my gf are very fussy and this restaurant ticks all the boxes

Had a lovely evening food was very good and plenty of it and the service was excellent, will definitely be visiting again.

We were welcomed by the bartender. Our table for two was in the middle of the restaurant and as the evening progressed it became increasingly apparent that the space between tables was insufficient. We had staff "brushing" by us constantly to serve other tables. Our server seemed a bit serious and indifferent initially, however as the evening went on and the restaurant became busier he seemed to "cheer up". Unfortunately when my meal arrived it had been cooked/covered in butter, not something I have known with that particular dish at other eateries before. As I have an intolerance to butter I questioned this. Initially the server denied this but after I persisted he checked with the chef and certainly it had been coated in butter. After a short discussion about the situation it was agreed that the plate of food would be changed. In the meantime my friend ate their food and then after about 15 minutes I received a fresh plate. It wasn't the best experience I've ever had, but certainly not the worst either. The restaurant was full by the time we left, so must be popular, but it's not somewhere I would return to.

Felt the food & the wine were very pricey. Service of some staff was better than others. Did not like the fact they put the service charge on automatically. Service charge should always be at the discretion of the customer.

Very quiet but we were well looked after. The food was delicious. We had the 2 course set lunch. It was warm & cosy too on a cold dreary day.

I visited Prowes for the first time on 10/11/25 and took my friend there for a surprise birthday meal. She was really impressed with the overall look and atmosphere of the place, which made me so happy. We ordered starters, our main meals, and of course, a bottle of wine. The waiter poured the wine for us, a really nice touch and exactly how it should be. Our starters were lovely, and we were given just the right amount of time to enjoy them and chat before the mains arrived. We were both so impressed with the food. I had the slow cooked beef with mash and vegetables, which was absolutely delicious, and my friend went for the chicken shish. Both dishes looked amazing and tasted superb. I would definitely recommend eating at this restaurant and would book it again for any special occasion. The portion sizes are generous, making it great value for money. To top off the evening, we were given a complimentary dessert of baklava and ice cream, which was a lovely surprise and the perfect way to end such a wonderful meal. I can’t wait to return and try something else from the menu!
