As the newest member of the Mustard and Punch family, Punch brings an authentic taste of Spain to Honley and the Holme Valley. Run by a pair of gents who are passionate about food, drink and great hospitality, Punch is an excellent choice you’re in pursuit of a relaxing and welcoming place to dine with your nearest and dearest. Being a predominantly Spanish restaurant, the name of the game is, of course, tapas and sharing boards, but that doesn’t mean you won't find a few very pleasing British-style twists on the menu as well as a separate menu for the little ones. Punch of Honley is located on Westgate and to round things off it has a great selection of wines, craft beers and cocktails. Reserve a table now.
Style as well as substance is exactly what’s to be expected from Punch of Honley, a tapas and bar setup on Westgate that really is worth the trip from wherever you happen to be in this part of suburban Huddersfield. Take a seat amongst quirky and contemporary Spanish-style decor then get ready to indulge in as much or as little as you like. Regardless of the occasion, whether there’s a group of eight of you, you’re out with the kids or if it’s a few of you just in for a drink without food, there will be something at Punch to please – that much we know for sure.
For the food to be as good as it is at Punch, the suppliers have to be good as well. As such, a local bakery delivers all the fresh bread and local butcher delivers all the meat. Magic things then happen in the kitchen and the results are excellent. From the tapas menu, get involved with bellota jamon complete with manchego and celeriac slaw, Spanish black pudding or some goats cheese and spinach croquetas. They are but three dishes from a list as long your arm on which every little plate is a dream. The Punch lunch menu offers astounding value and there’s also a set menu for groups of eight or more. Top everything off with a craft beer or cocktails and what could be better? A word of advice, however – be sure to head to this Honley gem armed with a reservation.
It was our first visit here, so we had to ask for a bit of advice on choosing. It was good advice! The salmon and beetroot fritters were excellent; so were the lamb chops and I liked the vegetable paella. Good desserts too. The whole place had a lively atmosphere and the service was excellent. So, another great venue in Honley. Only problem is, it's getting hard to choose between them!
First visit for food. My other half was a little sceptical about the menu. When the food came he soon changed his mind. Beautifully presented, good amount and tasted fantastic. Thank you!
The food was excellent! Really tasty and a great choice. The drinks were also lovely and they even went out of their way to make me something not on the menu. Perfect!
