Excellent food and good service, disappointed that when we were shown to the table the waitress told us we had a time limit on the table. I had been informed of this when I booked, I didn’t need it spelling out to me again as it made me feel we had to rush our meal.

Brill selection of tapas we ate squid, mini fish and chips, patatas bravas, lamb chops, chorizo lollipops. Would highly recommend the chorizo. Will definitely be back. Bar next door also nice to go after for a drink.

Lovely food; pleasant helpful staff; nice surroundings: but a bit noisy - a biggish party were enjoying themselves rather loudly and the acoustics of the place amplified the noise. Overall, a pleasant and enjoyable early evening

Upon arrival to Punch I was struck by the beauty of the transformation from dark and musty antique furniture store to bright and airy modern. The bell tolls for both early modern Spain and commercial Americana. There do seem to be some growing pains. The amuse bouche of crackers and chickpea dip (yes dry on dry, to get us to buy more cocktails?) was prepared on a table cluttered with an Amazon box and table cleaning rags and spray and the booths were storage for boxes and steamers. In need of a closet and a tidy already. We started with the bread and olive oil. The quality of this produce was impeccable and we really appreciated the olive oil and great sourdough. Next came the pear and walnut salad with blue cheese. The cheese was tasty however the pear, described in the menu as poached were white, anemic and lacked flavour. The lettuce chosen overpowered the nuts and pears. I did wipe up every speck of the sweet lemony dressing with the last of the sourdough. The fish burgers came next. The brioche buns were small and perfectly formed delights and the fish was fine. As fish burgers they were good and I think anyone who likes fish burgers or fish tacos would enjoy them. Are they Spanish? Would I call them flavoursome? Next was the steak, predictably my husband’s preferred tapas. The sauce and potatoes were delicious and the steak was well seasoned and served a nice medium. Good quality beef with good marbling without and grizzly bits. The last tapas we ordered was the paella. I really enjoyed the flavour in the rice and the gratin. The sausage in the rice was top shelf. The chicken was overcooked. The stylish but small pan the dish was served in meant that there was not enough space in the pan for those carmelised bits of rice and sausage that I will fight for on the perimeter of the paella pan. After dinner coffees were perfect, a really great coffee worth going back for, were the churros. Fab!

Lovely food, helpful staff but restaurant always very noisy and not a particularly relaxing experience. We were sat on high up bar stools this time which was quite awkward for my elderly mum. No other alternative seating was available but the staff did all they could to help her.

We booked a table and arrived on time nobody else was at the check in but us We were ignored for some time and then only a cursory acknowledgement The waiting on table staff were nice. The food was fine but all too rushed. Not the social experience we would be in a hurry to repeat sadly

My girlfriend and I (19 and 20 years old) went tonight, the staff were all so lovely and friendly and the venue itself was very comfortable and cosy so we had an overall enjoyable evening. We had lamb tegine, sweet potato fries, squid and the meat board for 2. We both thought the lamb, fries and the squid in particular was out of this world, one of the best we have had and let me tell you, we tend to go for squid/calamari often when we go out to eat. The meat board though seemed to be a little pricey and the meats seemed to be quite low quality, also we weren’t a fan of the cheese but that is a matter of preferance, not the restaurants fault. Although the venue was lovely we felt very claustrophobic and were sat very closely in between 2 other pairs which was quite awkward as we felt like we couldn’t really talk much.

It was our first visit here, so we had to ask for a bit of advice on choosing. It was good advice! The salmon and beetroot fritters were excellent; so were the lamb chops and I liked the vegetable paella. Good desserts too. The whole place had a lively atmosphere and the service was excellent. So, another great venue in Honley. Only problem is, it's getting hard to choose between them!

Menu (both wine and fit) is very limited and very noisy. Ok for a casual night but wouldn’t say it was anything special. Also there is nothing on the menu for people who like plainer food.

Portions quite small for £7/£8 per plate. You would think that if 4 people are dining you would get say 4 crab crockets not 3.ie over £2 per crocket. Otherwise very tasty food.
