Found in a former Anderston pub on Glasgow’s North Street, just moments from Charing Cross, Punjabi has become a favourite among the city’s most discerning foodies. Despite providing an upscale environment and gourmet South Asian cuisine, Punjabi keeps prices low, providing an incredible value without charging an arm and a leg. And with such amicable service, you’ll find any excuse to spend time in this handsome Indian restaurant.
Although you’ll certainly be impressed with the restaurant’s unique interior and friendly service, we’re sure you’ll be even more floored by Punjabi’s incredible Indian cuisine. Begin your meal with an order of pakoras – in chicken, haggis, fish and vegetable varieties – before diving into mains like seekh kebab, chicken tikka, sea bass or lamb chops. Try the lamb gurmeet, one of the restaurant’s signature dishes that attracts diners from across the city. For a classy Indian dining experience in the heart of Anderston and Glasgow city, you can’t go wrong at Punjabi, just steps from Charing Cross. Book early to ensure your spot!
As usual the food and service pure magic. Good choice of meals and starters, the staff always ready to help . I'll BE BACK !!
Nice friendly staff. The food was amazing really really tasty and the best garlic man breads ever. Will definitely be going back to this restaurant.
Just excellent food, we could not recommend highly enough, will keep going back
I've taken everyone I know who loves curry to punjabi & they all love it as much as me. The best curry house in Scotland! Great home cooking, try the lamb chops! You'll never go anywhere else for Indian food again! Ignore the decor you're there for food.
Starters were excellent. Would recommend the sea bass, prawns and lamb chops in particular. My lamb mulaidhar was superb and the rest of the party were very complimentary about their mains. Service tends to be slow here, a good indication that everything is freshly cooked but they did seem to be understaffed on this visit. Thankfully, the restaurant wasn't too busy and we were able to continue with our plan for the evening but it was a close run thing.
We arrived an hour early for our booking but that was not a problem even though it was Saturday teatime and the restaurant was filling up fast. We shared the fish starter recommended by the waiter and it was delicious. All main dishes were excellent and as stated by other customers - the nan breads are huge. Will definitely be back.
Had an absolutely great meal at the Punjabi. Both food and staff were excellent. Very reasonably priced. We will definitely be returning next time we are in Glasgow.
As always, the Punjabi never disappoints. The food was excellent, and we were given a warm welcome back. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Glasgow.
Hi all I absolutely loved the food, specially tava fish and chicken bone with chef's special rice and naan. If you want to experience a great punjabi tatste , this is the place to go. The ambience is lovely and warm. I am going back to this place again and again.
First time in the restaurant. Overall we were very pleased. Food was very tasty and fresh and came out quickly and in large portions also. The prices were also very reasonable as well. And the draught lager was very crisp. I would be more than happy to return again!
Excellent food and service. The food was plentiful in supply and very very tasty The naan bread was the biggest that I have ever seen. The service was very good. Top class Indian. Best that I have ever had.
great service, absolutely exceptional food. loved the suggestions that were made to us and very glad i chose the haggis pakora. restaurant is looking a little dated but the experience more than makes up for this, absolute gem!
Although restaurant dated the staff were friendly and attentive, the food was excellent. Cheese nan was absolutely huge and the portions were very large, we ordered too much, know now for next time. We will be going again next time we visit Glasgow.
Thoroughly enjoyable meal and outstanding service. Made feel most welcome and good explanation of the menu given together with some history of the dishes. Will go back again. Have already recommended to friends.
Friendly staff, amazing food (try the lamb gurmeet!), the tiny detail that stops me from giving full score is the somewhat questionable tunes ("Rolling in the Deep", "Someone like You", "Hero", "I'm Yours") that accompanied our dinner. Otherwise perfect!
Excellent food and service! I asked for what was best for my needs, and they cooked to spec, absolutely fantastic! Very accommodating too when we changed our numbers prior to arriving!
Food was authentic and tasty. It was very quiet when we went and could have been warmer. While we were there it filled up with Indian customers, which we thought was a good sign.
All 8 courses we had were excellent and plenty of it as well. Staff were very attentive, engaging and friendly making sure we were well looked after.
Service was really lovely and the food was amazing. It was a fantastically welcoming place, and the staff were brilliant, would definitely go back again! ☺️
great food and good service , all dishes very tasty , lovely breads and starters. good indian restaurant in glasgow to enjoy authentic spicy food
Lovely food and friendly staff. Well worth a visit if you are hungry. Huge portions and the naan breads are awesome. Very reasonable prices and the fish pakora is must
Great food - tasty, spicy and delicious. Great selection of different dishes to try. Great service. If you love Indian food, you must eat here!
Quite enjoyed our meal. The sauces were fantastic but in each case the lamb was a bit tough. We also had to move mid-way to accommodate a large table but the staff were really friendly and helpful.
Good curry and reasonable price, handy if your at the top end of the town a very nice bar just next door too so best of both worlds
Great friendly service, really good quality starters and mains. Very authentic recipes. Ran out of draft lager, which is a shame on a Friday night in Glasgow!
We had a delightful meal with good service. There was a good selection of dishes on the menu; a few of us enjoyed the use of Haggis.
The food was good, very tasty, service was good, quite relaxed, not in your face. It got busy around 8pm. 2 courses plus drinks for 2 people < £45 it was good value.
The food was lovely and the service was great. I went for the chicken tikka masala which was cooked perfect. Will definitely be going back
The food was very good. Just the correct balance of flavour and spice, and the portion sizes were spot on. Would go back here again.
Staff and service was excellent and the food was scrumptious. Only down side being that the restaurant could do with an overhaul. Great location and parking close by.
Lovely food, no atmosphere . , Saturday night, at once point we were the only people there, however the food was delicious and plentiful, thank you.
Nice meal apart from noisy party group but wasn't much of a problem. Tasty curry and good prices. Will visit again no doubt in future.
Food was excellent , good value for money . Decor and toilets could do with a good facelift . Service was not the greatest .
Slow service not very attebtive food was delisious however was not asked if we wanted a desert and waited 45 minutes for bill to come
Really friendly and phenomenal meal. Would definitely go again. A++
Great restaurant. Food really good. Really worth making a visit.
