Rare Steakhouse

Food was lovely and the staff was very welcoming and helpful.

Food was good but starters took 40 mins to arrive and mains took another 40 mins. Overall it took an hour and a half to finish a meal of two courses, and as we had to be somewhere else afterwards we had to rush our main course.

Service was excellent. Staff really lovely. Starters (king prawns) were tasty. But the mains (rump steak) was disappointing. Tough and gristley - had to leave some if it because it wasn't great. However, sides of chips asparagus and the blue cheese sauce was all good.

We love this restaurant, been going here for years. Always has the best service and the food is amazing.

The best prawn cocktail in town. Fillet steak was perfect.

Have often gone to Rare for a meal just me and other half and food is always amazing staff are very attentive. Lovely atmosphere even in quiet periods

Best place for steak in Greenwich! Cosy atmosphere with attentive service. Quality of sides to match the steak, with the Mac cheese and onion rings a must try. Very good for other meat options as well, especially the lamb.

Have visited this place several times over the last few years and never been disappointed. Excellent food and service as always and the owner even bought us a round of drinks!

Really enjoyed our date night here. Love the atmosphere and for once, my husband didn't complain about not having his steak cooked correctly as it was perfect! Will be coming agian!

even though we arrived late due to exceptionally bad traffic and walking from the city sark station it was not a problem. Fantastic staff food was exceptional Will definetaly be returning.

Excellent food and excellent service. We were a party of five and despite being relatively busy when we arrived we were attended to quickly. Drinks came swiftly and we ordered in a decent amount of time. The food arrived in a reasonable time. We all had bread and olives to start and a minor quibble is that there was balsamic vinegar on the olives which made them too sweet for my taste. We had various meals for main course and all were excellent. The greek salad again was drenched in balsamic vinegar. I think leaving it off and providing a range of different oils/vinegars would be better rather than ruining (in my view) a lovely salad. Price wise it was a little bit expensive but overall we had an excellent meal and a lovely time and we will be going back soon.

Rare is rare. Great food, wine x staff. We were made so welcome. It is a little gem in Greenwich just away from the busy part. FANTASTIC !

I had king prawn cocktail, it was beautifully presented in a glass 3 tier structure. For mains I had fillet steak, sliced potatoes in a creamy sauce, mushrooms in a mushroom sauce,side vegetables and onion rings. The steak was very moist and extremely tender. The service was friendly and efficient. I would highly recommend it.

Staff were attentive and helpful especially since my friend has allergies to certain things. They were incredibly patient and quick to remove plates after we had finished our meal.

Lovely staff, delicious steak! Our meal was a little delayed because the restaurant was busy, we weren’t in a hurry so didn’t mention anything. However we were asked if we wanted anything to drink ‘on the house’ for the delay. Excellent approach to customer service and we will definitely return.

We were warmly welcomed. From time we were there until we left nothing is too much trouble. As for the meal, the starters were superb, the main course was superb too. Overall the restaurant was excellent. Would definately return.

Lovely meal for mothers day/birthday combined celebration. Steaks super as always and dad loved his Lamb Klefitko recommended by waiter when first choice not available.

Food was alright, atmosphere was quite relaxing and they had a variety of things in the menu but the description of some items could be better and more detailed/clear.

Lovely restaurant with wonderful and friendly staff and the steaks were beautiful and tender and was inexpensive too! Will definitely be coming back again. The only downfall was a group of loud men were overkilling the vibe of date night but I guess that couldn't be helped.

Love it at rare I had the ribs they just fall off the bone and melt in your mouth - staff are so nice and treat you well food taste amazing apart from the kids keep coming and going all night that I was there apart from that the evening was spot on

Although the food was nicely cooked and tasted good, we were kept waiting for 50 minutes for three starters... and were the only table in the restaurant.

Great place: good atmosphere, friendly staff & amazing food! Really good option for quiet dinner or celebration. Intimate feel to restaurant ratherbthan large chain. Go there!

We love Rare but unfortunately his visit was not the best - all our steaks were a little tough - mine even grisly and I had a fillet? I told our waiter but his response was we will have to come again And get a different cut of steak. Unfortunately we were caught behind a large party so we was waiting a very long time with children too. Staff are always friendly and attentative cannot fault them. Not sure if we will go back

The food was ok not worth the price but an hour between ordering drinks and courses was just to long use to be a great othellos fan and this was my first time being able to get in since the change over what a huge dissapointment the restaurant was busy but didn't understand why unless they where all first timers like me travelled 8 miles to get there won't be hurrying back

Went in a Saturday night, busy but not lon waiting times. Amazing steak cooked perfect. Starters little overpriced but lovely meal in lovely surroundings. Staff very attentive.

The atmosphere was very quiet as there was just us and another couple in ther but it was perfect with the dimmed red lighting and the candles on the table. The food and service was the best ive had in ages

We visited for my son's 18th, the restaurant was empty, people don't know what they're missing...the food was lovely, I had halloumi to start, it was good but my husband's tempura prawns were even better, luckily the portion sizes were big enough to share! We all had different steaks, our plates were clean at the end, I tasted all 3 steaks and my fillet steak was the best. I'd definitely recommend this place to family and friends

Fantastic food and staff very attentive. The baked Camembert starter was superb. The Kleftiko and T-Bone main courses were great as well. Powerful cocktails were also reasonably priced. I would save for a special occasion as the main price for two was above average

Exceptional food, good service with absolutely no rushing of courses and ambience extremely pleasant. The menu is excellent with many many choices for all courses. I went with friends and we were very impressed. Just one note of caution is that the prices are on the higher side £50 for 2 courses including sides and coffee but well worth it. Recommended.

We went to Rare for Valentines day and enjoyed a warm welcome, Rare had pulled out all the stops to make sure everyone had a wonderful night greeting us with a glass of prosseco and a single red rose for the ladies which was a lovely touch, we had a great meal and enjoyed listening to the live music, An amazing night.

Good steak and lobster tail. Mac and cheese could have been better, and took a while to bring the sides out, but otherwise very good experience.

Amazing food and lovely staff and great with our kids. Best steakhouse we've been to. We will definitely go back next time we go to London.
