More about Ravello's Restaurant, Newport

Quite often it’s the restaurants inside hotels that are the best ones. Hotel restaurants have a lot riding on them and, perhaps more so than a restaurant on the high street, they have exacting standards to uphold. As such, the food here at Ravello’s Restaurant inside Newport’s Parkway Hotel and Spa is nothing short of excellent. In this simple yet wonderfully stylish dining room, the flavour of the food is matched only by its presentation. Every plate here, whether that be an early-morning breakfast or a proper Sunday lunch, is beautifully presented in a way that lets you know you’re about to enjoy some of the best British food within miles of Cwmbran Drive.

As we said before, the menu at Ravello’s Restaurant changes according to season but, at the time of writing, starters from the a la carte include smoked salmon tartare with horseradish creme fraiche, as well as roasted peach with balsamic fig, goats cheese, pine nuts and beetroot. Mains, and the Cornish sole with cockle butter, red wine, wild mushrooms and tarragon is a winner, along with the herb crusted lamb cannon or the pearl barley risotto. As you can see, Ravello’s Restaurant offers only refined and sophisticated British flavours that have diners making the trip into central Newport on a very regular basis. Waste no time in placing a reservation now.

Lovely restaurant with professional and friendly staff. The Sunday carvery is great - good selection of meat and fresh veg, all cooked well. And a beautiful setting!
