Red Dog Saloon Southampton is one of a handful of Red Dog Saloons outside London and flies the flag high for proper American-style barbecue done the Southern way: low, slow and smokey. You’ll find the restaurant in the heart of city at Watermark, West Quay where an extremely impressive menu awaits. Burgers, buttermilk Southern fried chicken, loaded fries and more pit smoked meat than you can shake a stick at – you name it, it’s all here. If you’re feeling hungry we’d absolutely recommend the carnivore platter for a minimum of two people. It comes with a proud selection of all of Red Dog Saloon’s meats, pickles and one side per person. Loosen your belts for Red Dog Saloon, one of Southampton’s finest American restaurants.
Inspired by the iconic flavours of Southern American cuisine, Red Dog Saloon brings the taste of the South to Southampton. Fitting, don’t you think? This branch of the popular group is located in the city centre at Watermark, West Quay and is housed in a rustic, warm and welcoming space that fits the atmosphere and menu down to a tee. All the meats at Red Dog Saloon have been smoked over hickory and mesquite for 16 hours which gives them that classic full smoke flavour and leaves the cuts tender and juicy. Feeling hungry yet?
A word of warning when heading to Red Dog Saloon Southampton – you’ll need to arrive very hungry indeed, because there’s a whole lot you’ll be wanting to try. We recommend starting with Texas-style nachos smothered in hickory-smoked beef brisket chilli, jalapenos, cheddar and sour cream; Southern-fried ribs and mozzarella sticks served with marinara sauce. Then, you’ll find smoked buffalo wings; burgers with all the trimmings; a range of Southern fried chicken options and plates brimming with several cuts of meat all served with sides. With plenty more American classics on offer, you’ll want to book yourself in at Red Dog Saloon Southampton in the city centre as soon as possible.
If you're looking for delicious, quality food and you're a meat lover like me... This is the place you need to be. The staff are friendly, the service great and the mozzarella sticks are the best I've ever had. By far one of my favourite restaurants to go to. 100% recommended.
Really nice meal - all served on wooden boards and presented well. The meal was quite expensive though - approx £25 per head for a main course and drinks. The service was good and the atmosphere was very plesant.
Good food, good service, just a little expensive. I would recommend a visit. The atmosphere was good and the bar although busy didnt disturb the diners. Overall a good place to go.
