Had a lovely late lunch, enjoyed the food and the chilled atmosphere. The service was quick with pleasant staff too. We weren't rushed so had time to enjoy or bottle if wine.

The French Onion soup is amazing. Other dishes were lovely. Very good value and friendly servers. John Quigley, chef/owner goes round tables to check his customers are happy. Can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough.

We had the pre theatre menu, 2 courses £22.50 it was delicious and great value for money. The atmosphere was casual and the service was great. Can't recommend enough. Will definitely be back!

We had the set menu and everything was excellent, I really enjoyed my starter of bang bang chicken. I have food intolerances and it was great to have a menu where most things I could eat. Staff and service were good. We will definitely be back.

Service was very off hand. It was very cold and draughty. The French onion soup isn't as good as it used to be, the steak frites were accompanied by a dried up over grilled tomato that shouldn't have been served and when we asked for mayonnaise a plastic bottle that needed cleaned was supplied. Not really impressed

We are regular visitors to the Red onion. The food was nice enough, but Staff were not very welcoming on this occasion. Drinks glass was dirty when it arrived at our table and kitchen staff and waiting staff continually accessed the main door throughout our meal. This led to us being cold and not extending our meal.

Arrived about 30 mins before our booking on a wet Monday. Warmly greeted and shown to our seats. Immediately offered a drink and staff were knowledgeable about the bar stock. Great choices for an Itison deal and portions were full size both for starter and main. Food was delicious; well cooked and presented. Staff went out of their way to meet our needs. Cosy and calm vibe on a wintery evening. Slight delay on main course arriving but staff were charming and kept us nicely posted about it. Food was fresh, nicely seasoned and very tasty; generous portions. Music included some classy tracks perfect for background, allowing us to chat.

Me and my 2 daughters had a lovely 2 course lunch from the Itison and the fixed menu. All the different dishes were delicious as we all had a little nibble from each other’s plates

Having made an error in my booking (booked for 2 instead of 5) the assistant quickly found a solution to accommodate us within the fully booked restaurant. Drinks were quickly ordered and arrived sharply. Our food order was then taken and again within a short period of time they were serving them. The staff are attentive, friendly and overall on the ball. The food is of the highest quality and presented wonderfully. I highly recommend this restaurant, definitely one of the best in Glasgow.

Food and service were good. The restaurant is looking a bit tired and could do with some refresh.
