Lovely food, good service. Restaurant was quiet when we arrived for our booking (815pm) but was much busier earlier in the evening when we passed. Would perhaps book earlier next time to benefit from more of an atmosphere. Food good value, especially on the fixed price menu which one of our party had. Would return.

This was our first visit to Red Onion. The food was lovely and the service was fast and very efficient. The waitress advised us to order quickly as a large coach party were due to arrive. This proved to be good advice! Both the blonde waitresses were extremely efficient and friendly. They certainly earned their money that night as it was non stop dealing with the coach party. My only slight criticism was that our table was slightly squashed into the corner and rather close to the table next to us. Overall a very positive experience- lovely food and excellent service with a smile( especially the lovely Aussie waitress).

Delicious meal in a lovely restaurant. Food was amazing. We had an Itison deal comprising 2 courses for 2 people for £36, and the set menu choice was varied and our choices perfectly cooked and very tasty. Would recommend a meal at Red Onion

Nice meal and attentive staff. Same menu as last year . Unfortunately I didn't get the Wow feeling about the meal. It was tasty and no complaints. Place needs a little TLC as some of the chairs were burst and showing the foam filling . Otherwise A OK

Had a fabulous meal in Red Onion last night, had scallops to start then seabass it was tremendous. Waiter was very friendly and polite definitely will be back.

Staff were attentive, if not a little over bearing at the beginning. This seemed to calm down and overall the experience was good. Lovely food and wine. And a nice ‘happy birthday’ touch for my friend. Food was tasty with the wine and deserts being especially delicious. The disabled toilet wasn’t the best, and they could definitely do better in this area but overall a good experience.

All three of us thought it was the best meal we had eaten in ages; everything was truly amazing. 3 courses, all different, all delicious. The overall cost was about half what I expected, which was a bonus.

Was seated in the upper mezzanine area which is not very nice in terms of ambiance. The lighting is harsh and area cramped. Food quality very mixed. Some very good and some (the piece of pork in my main course was over cooked, dry and tough. It’s a lovely restaurant (in the main area) and I’ve had lovely meals in it previously but yesterday was definitely not great, sorry.
