Red Onion

We were a group of 3 friends celebrating Christmas. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our table by our server who was friendly and helpful for the duration of our visit. We all ordered from the pre-theatre menu which had a varied selection to choose from. Excellent food and service we would highly recommend.

Thoroughly enjoyed visiting the Red Onion again, although it was sad to be there without John Quigley popping out of the kitchen to say hello. As ever the food and service were very good and our friends who hadn’t been before were equally impressed.

Arrived early for our booking but the staff were friendly and quickly showed us to our table. After ordering, we found the seats to be a bit draughty and asked if we could be moved. The staff were extremely helpful and promptly moved us to a cosier table. After which we were served with a delicious 2 course meal with a more than decent bottle of Malbec. Can’t wait to return.

1. The food is great and it's especially good that there are so many gluten free options which allows gluten intolerant folks to enjoy a full menu. 2. Service was friendly and the lunch-time ambience was friendly and accommodating. 3. Excellent vfm.

As always the food in Red Inion Glasgow is ‘proper’ grown up food, and the staff are really friendly, while professional. Definitely recommend.

Ambiance was lovely, but food was just ok. The steak in the Steak Frites, wasn't great and the mushroom risotto wasn't very mushroomy (the overwhelming tastes was the decorative crispy onions which were on top. Nothing was bad, just not great either.

Everything was perfect from start to finish. We had a lovely evening!

The food was amazing, staff were curteous and ensured our dining experience was first class. We will certainly very returning.

The staff were friendly. My partner has a problem with her circulation so being warm is important. Although there was a slight heat it wasn't warm enough for her to take her coat off initially. For me the main course could have been hotter.

My favourite restaurant Sometimes you go to a restaurant the first time and it's great amd when you go again it's not as good BUT that's not the case in red onion , been a few times recently and tried different dishes all been amazing

We got a horrible table upstairs at the end of the row where the draught was cold and it felt claustrophobic. Food was ok. Nothing special to celebrate my daughter’s 30th. Staff were lovely.

Great good and lovely service from staff. Did feel that the two tables 2 upstairs should not be there as in walk way and very close to fitted booths - constantly bumping tables. Please remove as better for customers and staff.

Food was lovely and service was good. I haven't been here in a few years and although it is a lovely restaurant, the decor is getting a bit tired - ripped leather on the seats etc. The toilets are especially tired looking and could do with an update.

We had a beautiful meal, the server was very friendly, and attentive without being overwhelming. This was a return visit fir us, and we agree it will not be our last. The quality and freshness of the food, the service, and wine selection mean we still have lots to try.

This is about the fifth or sixth time I have been at the Red Onion and the choice of Gluten Free is excellent. The quality of the food is very high. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Buzzy atmosphere the entire time we were there. Great value and choice on the set menu with a wide range of vegan options. A very pleasant experience! Will return soon 👍

Took almost 30 mins for main course to come, and to be honest, it was very disappointing. Waitress was lovely though, but probably won't revisit.
