Slinging out burgers as fast as you can say ‘beef’, Relish Real Burgers at Alban Arena down St Peter’s Street is a restaurant that values its customers. Open for lunch and dinner every day of the week except Monday, this town centre burger joint is quickly becoming one of the most popular hangout spots in town, and as winners of the title Most Family Friendly venue at the St Albans & Harpenden Food & Drink Festival 2015, it’s also the type of place you can enjoy with the little ones too. The burgers here are without a doubt the biggest draw to the restaurant, however the barbecue specialities are also worth your time – try the American-style barbecue ribs if you’re up for some seriously tender meat. But don’t just take our word for it – book your table ahead of time to experience what makes Relish Real Burgers the talk of St Albans.
Great food, great service, child friendly, lovely staff, clean toilets. Only improvement would be for me the dessert menu needed more to it and if changing a dirty nappy you are in view of diners who can also see your child with their nappy off, bit something I would be happy with.
Super efficient service, delicious food and drinks. Staff incredibly polite and helpful. A good range of items on the menu. Booking simple. Will be visiting again soon.
Great service, excellent burgers and fries and lots to choose from. Love the elderflower to drink, complete with fresh berries but would ask the management to ban the plastic straw. They are so damaging and lots of St Albans restaurants have signed up to find alternatives. Will be back
Brilliant as always. The burgers and shakes here are fresh, tasty, varied and amazing. Great service too and ideal location for the Alban arena. Will be back
We visited Relish Real Burgers last week for a dinner with two children. The staff were really welcoming and after finding it was our first time there they explained that there is a games corner and children are welcome to get some games from there. They did, and they brought some games to the table which made waiting for food seem really short and pleasant. The children were busy playing whilst the adults chatted and after eating we all shared a board game whilst having our coffees/milkshakes. The only reason the score is not 6/6 is that the food could have been better. The burgers were rather cold (we didn't mind that much but I know some people who would!). All considered , we will be back. The kids loved it! And we had a great evening together.
It's the run up to Christmas and there was 19 of us on one table including 9 children, so quite a handful for the guys at Relish, a pre-Panto lunch. The staff were fantastic and attended to the children as well as the adults. The food arrived quickly and uniformly for all the diners and the standard of food was absolutely fantastic. We were well attended to during the entire 2 hour lunch and I would recommended this restaurant to any foodie, the presentation was great and a bit quirky and the flavours were fabulous, get yourselves down to Relish at your next opportunity
This was a pleasant surprise, even though the reviews were good I was wondering just how good a burger bar would be. But the service was friendly and efficient, the food was absolutely delicious including the burgers and the ribs, and the puddings really enjoyable. I definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting well prepared and satisfying food. The only (very small) let-down were the scruffy menus which needed renewing! Well done to all the excellent staff at Relish Real Burgers St Albans!
Great food and service. We ordered the halloumi stack, classic burger and chicken stack between 2 of us. Plus sides of apple and beetroot slaw (definitely recommend) and fries. Food was delicious, although there was too much really but we wanted to try everything. Total bill came to less than £35 including one regular and one alcoholic shake. Great place to take children - very family friendly, with board games and puzzles for you to play at your table. We will definitely be going back!
The best burgers in St Albans and perfect location for an evening at the Alban Arena. It's a shame the Quandoo Review system insists on a minimum of 25 words as I only wanted to say "The best burgers in St Albans and perfect location for an evening at the Alban Arena" but you (for some unknown reason) have forced me to extend it. Next time, I simply won't respond.
We love Relish and are regulars, however on our visit yesterday service was unusually slow and the waiting staff kept changing throughout the meal which meant although we'd notified on the booking that we were celebrating our son's 7th Birthday, each staff member seemed unaware, especially at the time when they normally add a candle to the pudding for the birthday member, it did ruin the surprise for him a little, but it was all sorted in the end though and we had a lovely meal.
