It’s certainly no secret among Ewell Village locals and connoisseurs of Italian cuisine around Epsom, but travellers or visitors to this part of Surrey with a soft spot for continental cuisine should set their coordinates for Ewell Village’s High Street. Elegant but homely, Ristorante Il Capriccio provides a lovely atmosphere and a menu of traditional Italian treats to match any mood – Sunday is a time for homely, hearty food, and Ristorante Il Capriccio provide just the ticket with their gorgeous lasagna della mamma, during the week you can’t go wrong with their exquisite three-course set lunch, monthly live music nights are a time for a casual tipple and delicious antipasto nibble (order two serves of proscuitto e melone from the get-go, because one is never enough) and any time is a good time for seafood lovers, with grilled Dover sole, steak of halibut in a butter, lemon and parsley sauce or skate in black butter and capers just a few of the fabulous fish dishes.
Excellent food, excellent service, what more can you ask? Great value for Sunday lunch and in the week, if you are looking for a good restaurant.
Great food, great atmosphere, great staff. Really enjoyed the experience and would definitely recommend to our friends and family. The food was absolutely delicious and very big portions.
They were very busy, but served us with a smile. Always get good service. Very noisy with so many customers eating and chatting, but an enjoyable visit. Hope to get back there soon.
Brilliant service from all the staff. Amazing food lots to choice from the set menu choice, such great value for money. Looking forward to my next visit.
At Ristorante Il Capriccio there is always a warm welcome The food is delicious, and the price is reasonable. My friends and I had a lovely lunch on Sunday. The restaurant was full, and waiters were still very attentive. If you haven't visited yet, call them up now. They get booked up quickly. Well worth a visit
I have been here several times with friends as it is a favourite restaurant for lunch. Yesterday I took my son and daughter-in-law there for lunch and it did not disappoint. The new decor is charming, and the service was quick and efficient, even though it was very busy. We all thoroughly enjoyed our varying meals and my guests are very serious 'foodies' who eat out in the best London restaurants. They were very impressed with the food and drink, and the whole ambience of the restaurant, and have requested that I make a reservation for lunch again when they visit me from Essex. It was excellent value for the Sunday set tariff.
We have been to Il Capriccio many times over a lot of years . It continues to give excellent service and provide food which is of the highest quality . Our visit yesterday 18th May was as good as ever . We eat from the fixed price evening menu . The pasta starter and prawn cocktail were very good . the main courses of veal and trout were very tasty and well cooked . The deserts left nothing to be desired and to finish with coffee just made the meal At a fixed price of £17.95 was excellent value for money
We visited Il Capprichio on 7 December for a business lunch. The menu was quality Italian, lots of fish, seafood, meat and vegetables with truly generous portions. A real bonus was the dessert fridge, which you rarely see in Italian restaurants any more with, amongst lots of gorgeous cakes, 3 different marinated fresh fruit bowls. The wine choice was also extensive, the service friendly but discreet. All in all a wonderful experience in the peaceful setting of Ewell Village.
It was my nans birthday and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. They even kept my 1 year old entertained! It was a really special evening and the food was fantastic. Thank you for a lovely night the candles and singing for the birthday girl finished the night off on a high!
The ambience of the restaurant is welcoming and the staff patient and attentive. The food is excellent and affordable, and, with such a varied menu, choice is easy. The location of the restaurant makes parking difficult, but this has no reflection on the restaurant itself. We shall certainly go to Il Capriccio again and will recommend friends to do so too.
