Dear diners, please note that all reservations during December require a deposit. Thank you for your understanding.
Nestled among the various shops and bars that line Partick's Dumbarton Road, Roastit Bubbly Jocks is a cosy retreat in Glasgow’s West End. Taking its name from the old Scots word for turkey, this bistro-style restaurant dishes up hearty Scottish cuisine as well as some dishes with a French twist. With its homely vibe and equally as homely cuisine, Roastit Bubbly Jocks is a local favourite, attracting foodies for breakfast, lunch and dinner, seven days a week.
Decorated with quirky, mismatched decor and handmade art lining the walls, Roastit Bubbly Jocks is a bistro with a neighbourhood feel. Head to Partick’s Roastit Bubbly Jocks for brunch and you could tuck into The Glasgow Fry (bacon, sausages, black pudding, mushrooms, grilled tomato, beans, fat tattie scone, free-range eggs and Dingwall haggis), while the main menu boasts a great selection of modern Scottish cuisine, as well as some dishes with French influences.
Start off with the west coast fish chowder, goats cheese souffle or some seared king scallops with Stornoway black pudding and apple puree before moving on to a Scottish classic like the haggis, neeps and tatties or the roast haunch of Argyll venison with red cabbage and sweet potato dauphinoise. Vegetarians will find plenty of choice too, like the filo parcel with roast squash, spinach, feta, red onion and salad. Located in Glasgow’s buzzing West End on Dumbarton Road, Roastit Bubbly Jocks is a popular choice, whether its for brunch or an evening meal. Really tasty food which is not over priced. Presentation and service excellent. We were there for a significant birthday and would thoroughly recommend here for any special occasion..
Stunning food and great service as ever at Roastit Bubbly Jocks! We had our wedding meal here back in 2010. I’m so delighted the place is still going and the food and service is as good as ever. Bravo!
House wine was really good. never had Portugese wine, but will definately have it again. Enjoyed every course, steak cooked to perfection, will definately be back. Not surprised when told it was the "sister" restaurant to Fanny Trollopes.
Loved it! Frank and his team are fab. The food is fantastic and fabulous value and we always have a brill time. See you guys soon!
This was our first visit to Roastit Bubbly Jocks and we are already planning our next! The restaurant has a good atmosphere and lovely helpful staff. We choose this restaurant for the menu and our party of four weren't disappointed. I cant eat dairy, wheat and tomatoes which means i usually have a meal with these thing just taken off (which can make for a dull dish) But the chef here made an absolutely delicious similar dish for me, containing all the flavours promised on the menu! We are all looking forward to my sons birthday to return.
A really enjoyable meal in informal surroundings fronted by very pleasant, welcoming and attentive staff. Our early evening (pre- theatre) booking gave access to fixed price and a la carte menus which could be mixed and matched as desired. The man- sized portions meant that, after a superb starter of West coast seafood chowder followed by an equally tasty venison ragu with pasta there was unfortunately no space for dessert! If you haven't eaten here before, seek RBJ out- I am sure you will not be disappointed.
The restaurant is quite small but lovely - not cramped at all and with great decor. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was out of this world. We were on the set Mothers Day menu - lots of choices and all courses fresh and hot and very tasty. Lamb and steak in the steak pie melted and the presentation was great. Highly recommend this restaurant - and plan to visit many times again myself.
Food was lovely. I am not normally a sweet hand but I recommend the Honeycomb and Caramel Sundae. Unfortunately the restaurant was exceptionally noisy due to a table of 12 females sitting behind us. We could hardly hear ourselves speak because of them. Staff were very pleasant. There was a mix up with my potatoes, for which I was not charged. It was a nice touch to give us a drink at the end of our meal too. We would visit again.
From the outside it looks like an ordinary cafe, but scallops were brilliant, best I've had in ages, the roast pork superb, especially the crackling, and such a good whisky collection. All this and ice cream & tablet for dessert at the incredibly low price of £32! The service was quick and friendly too. I'm definitely going back.
MOH and I Book to go for dinner at 6:30 on a Saturday evening along with another couple. Service was efficient, staff were friendly, and food was excellent. We had been before but the other couple had not, they both said they would be returning. I lovely night was had by all.
