Rumi's Indian Restaurant

Loved this restaurant, staff were great, even managed to get myself and my daughter to try something new!!!

Lovely night. Fabulous food and atmosphere. 10 out of 10

the restaurant had gone into liquidation but non of the web sites had been told even the answer phone at the rumis never said they where closed went some where else.

Our table was booked for 7 on Friday night. When we arrived there was a sign on the door saying they could not take card payments. The restaurant was also empty, so we left and found somewhere better.

cash only, going out of business, over priced, under delivering quality, poor service. Biryani sauce missing, when pointed out, brought dish water instaed of advertised Tarka dhal.

Restaurant was really Cold, bad service (although the waitress tried their best) incorrect food served, bland food and terrible attitude from chef/owner. Will never visit again and expect it will close in a couple of months.

Excellent food and a different menu to most Indian eating establishments Great choice. The only slight criticism the service wasn't as good as previous visits, though I understand new staff were on duty, so give them a chance. Won't be stopping me from going back. Well done Rumis.

The first issue was a note pinned on the door saying no credit cards. As we sat down in a virtually empty restaurant I noticed a small heater. My daughter never warmed up the whole of the time. The starter was tasty but our main curry dishes lacked flavour and taste. We were all very disappointed as I had heard very good comments and feedback on this restaurant. We did give feedback when asked and the bill was reduced a little. I would not go back in the near future.

Unfortunately the restaurant was cold , although we were offered the opportunity to move to a table next to a radiator. As a starter I had garlic prawns: these were more like tiny shrimps. I main course I chose was lamb jalfazi : the sauce was fine, but there was very little meat. On the up side, the staff were friendly and helpful.

The food was lovely but it was a shame that our table for 8 wasn't ready upon arrival (as it had been booked for at least a week). Also we arrived at 6.00 pm and ordered popadoms but we had to chase our mains up at about 7.20 pm. Still... the food was worth waiting for.

Great food as always. Very good menu choice, with vegetarian options. Nice relaxed evening, good service, the staff were happy to with food choices, offering alternative meals. Would recommend.

Food was gorgeous as usual. Service also very good. Would recommend as we have never had a bad meal or experience yet. Will be back soon.

Enjoyable evening as ever. However, a couple of guests in our party said their dishes didn't quite have as much flavour as the last time they'd had them.

The food to a very long time to arrive. The meal was not the best we have had in the restaurant. All four of us were disappointed with our main courses.

Although the food was excellent we waited over 45 minutes for our starter of popadoms and another 40 minutes before the main courses arrived. Very slow service. Probably will not go again.

Food excellent but the service was very slow on this occasion-too many diners and not enough staff this time. Also several drinks from the menu weren’t available

Lovely friendly staff and fantastic food. Great menu choices and staff fully knowledgeable of the menu and can recommend dishes which is closest to what your looking for.

Pretty cold inside. we were the first people in and still took 40 mins for food to come. Really nice food. We paid cash but they had no change. Good food poor service.

Got seated quickly and drinks and pickle tray brought out quickly enough, but all went wrong from there. The staff seemed to be avoiding the tables and after 45 minutes we had to call one over to take our food order.Shortly after the table next to us had waited 2 hours for their food which then showed up cold. Another table had eventually eaten their s and said it was awful and left without paying for it. The table behind us had been there an hour and not even had their order taken! At this point we decided to cancel our order, pay for our drinks and leave. When passing the kitchen we could only see 1 person in there. The waitresses apologised saying they didn't know what had gone wrong with the kitchen. But tbh they shouldn't be letting people sit there for such long periods knowing full well there was a problem. It isn't often we manage a night out so was very disappointed! Certainly won't be going back and can't see it lasting much longer at this rate. Something has gone badly wrong as had previously had a great reputation and had booked because of this but looking at recent reviews it seems to have gone downhill!

They prioritised takeaway orders so we never recieved any food. Walked out after over an hour of waiting. Will not be going again. Would give less than 1 if i could

Absolutely the worst restaurant experience of our lives. Our table was booked for 1945, we still hadn’t got our main meal by 2125. If it had been jam packed I may have understood, but there were only two other people in the place eating!

Food excellent. Took a while to get it considering there was only six people in when we arrived. But worth the wait in the end.

Absolutely brilliant, great service and very tasty food. We will definately be visiting again very soon. Not you ordinary run of the mill indian, different dishes that taste amazing.

Restaurant couldn't cope with a typical Saturday night. 2 hours after booked time all diners who hadn't received food (a lot) asked to leave the restaurant as kitchen couldn't cope. A quite unreal experience. NEVER again though I wouldn't be surprised if it closed soon. Absolutely disgusting service.

Waited over two hours before we left not having any food! Not very impressed, will not be going again in a hurry! Waitress's where very apologetic though.

Food excellent, atmosphere good, only negative point is that of service, which could have been quicker. This needs addressing by the management as there were a couple of incidents during our visit concerning slow service. This could quickly destroy a good business.

Dreadfull. Ordered drinks only to be told they didnt serve them five minutes later. Then a fight broke out with customers and staff. Nearly two and half hours to get main meal. Drinks ordered never turned up. Cold starters. Worse night ever

We (3 people) waited 50 minutes for our meal and had to ask where the meal was (there was only 1 other couple in the restaurant). The rice was cold and also 1 chicken meal was only lukewarm so it was agreed to re-cook stating it would only be 2 minutes, this was over 10 and in meantime other 2 people had nearly eaten their meal. When my chicken came back it was hot but the chicken was either rubbery or very gristly so I could not eat any of it. I explained this to the waitress who was clearing away as she could see that I had only eaten a little sauce and rice and explained the reasons, she came back from the kitchen but never mentioned this. I had received good reviews from colleagues at work but unfortunately we will not be returning and would not be advising others too.

Great food and friendly staff. Disappointed with the atmosphere really. 8pm Saturday night we thought it'd be busy but sadly not but that is my only complaint really.

Fantastic taste experience with very friendly staff!! Great explanation of the menu and all for a very reasonable price. Will most certainly be paying another visit

Having recently moved to the area we looked at the reviews for local Indians, this was top so we booked. This is by far the worst dining experience i have had. 50 mins for a drink even after I had gone up to ask for one. I had the lamb Dhansak, there were six pieces of meat in a strong onion gravy with loads of onion & no apparent lentils, my daughter had chicken tikka massala with a sauce stuffed with onions, the lemon and cashew rice had no noticeable lemon but half an onion and burned nuts. The peshwari was the only good part of the meal. I have been in many Indian restaurants in the UK and India and this was worse than the the worst you can buy as a ready meal anywhere. If a two hour wait had produced the best curry ever I wouldn't mind so much (unless the drinks came immediately in which case I would have been well pissed before the food came). So, if I want to eat 4 or 5 onions in meal I will never go near the place again. Appalling!!

Ambience and decode are great, the service started out well however the team seemed to loose control of the evening; we had to ask for the bill 3 times. The food was okay; westernised and bland.....great presentation. Guess just not for us and will suit others

Service slow. Pickle tray was made up mainly of pureed nondescript spiced gloop not traditional pickle. The main course not as good as previously experienced

Great food when it came but unacceptably slow service. We do understand they were a chef down but it felt there just wasn't enough staff all round to cope.

The service was a bit slow and one meal came warm other than that it was an ok meal. Would I rush back probably not.

Superb as always. We tried the vegetarian options this time and they were soon tasty. The heat of the meals were spot on for what we asked. Service was also wonderful despite it being quite late.

Lovely food, with a large choice and unusual dishes. The staff were very helpful and friendly. It was an enjoyable evening shared with friends. Will definitely visit again.

A fantastic meal for five, service was exellent as usual. Would highly recommend a visit and for what we ate, the price was very fair

Delicious food and friendly service. Very helpful with suggestions to my son, who is a little fussy when it comes to food, he was not disappointment with the recommendation. Will visit again.
