Brill customer service. Good food. A bit too salty for my liking but great value for money and fresh. Will be definitely coming back very soon.

We booked online easily, to eat at 7.30 that same night. The welcome was warm and we were seated straight away and our orders taken promptly. We both had a huge lamb shank and my partner asked for saffron rice instead of the dill and broad bean polow that I had. Generous portions and tasty. Complementary Persian tea finished our meal and despite not being a tea drinker I began to get a taste for it, my partner really enjoyed the fragrant drink.

Very good service, all staff were friendly & there was very little waiting time for food to arrive. However cuisine was not to our taste.

I visited Saba as it was a place I’d noticed as being well reviewed so thought it was worth giving it a shot & I’ve never eaten much in the way of middle eastern food out so thought it would be something different too. We ordered a mixed starter, which came in a dish as a collection of dips which was served with 2 Naan breads. We considered ordering two but the waiter recommended ordering one to start with which was good advice as there was plenty enough to go round for the 4 of us. The waiter we had was good throughout the whole evening & very helpful. For mains, me & one other ordered ‘Ghaimeh Bademjam’ a lamb stew type dish, One other ordered a Afgan dish called ‘Qabuli Polow’ which was kind of like a biryani with carrots and raisins & served with a lamb shank [portion was huge] The Stew dish I ordered was however quite small, the taste was pleasant, a little plain for me if I’m honest & there wasn’t a great deal of meat either [meat was a bit dry] I felt the dish needed to have less rice & more sauce as I ran out of sauce & was left with lots of plain rice. I think if I were to visit again, I’d go with one of the skewered meat dishes, I tried a little of my friends chicken kebab, the meat was tender with a nice char grilled flavour but my friend did comment that he felt it was the only real flavour he had. I think it’s a matter of personal taste but for me I found overall that I wanted more flavour, but I guess middle eastern flavours are quite mild. Being honest, I was a little disappointed with my meal. Its of course subjective as two of my friend really rated the food. To follow we enjoyed some baklava all washed down with a lovely Persian tea. Our waiter chatted to us about how we found the tea & to guess what the tea was flavored with. It was a nice relaxing way to finish off the meal. I did enjoy the evening & the service was good too; But, on this occasion I’m giving an ‘average’ rating, because ultimately I’m going on how much I enjoyed the food which I didn't as much as I‘d hoped, so I don’t feel I can give much higher. If I could rate 3 & ½ stars I would but I’ve given 4 stars for meals else where which I have enjoyed more so I can’t justify given the same this time.

Ate here last night, was a nice homely comfortable atmosphere and was fairly quiet so had a good level of service. The level of pricing is suited to the portions and is reasonably cheap. We had free Persian deserts and Arabic tea which was a bonus! I had the lamb in a stew which was extremely tender and cut through with a fork, was so tasty. It came with lentils which were equally as good and steamed rice, an ideal dish if your looking for something not so heavy. Would recommend and come again if I was in the area. The downfalls are that it is slightly dated and needs to be brought to a diners expectations, only small changes would need to be made as the family cosy warm atmosphere was good. It also would attract a wider selection of people as it seems presently that only local or Persian people dine in. Would score a average 6-7 out of 10 for this dining experience

Saba is cosy and inviting. The staff are friendly and attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed the complementary tea and shall return to use the 20% discount card we were given (the prices are extremely good value).

Excellent service and great food. The lamb dish was a bit heavy but was delicious. To much raisins on the rice, but my fault for not asking them not to put any. Nice and quiet restaurant, was good for us young couple

I, my husband and our son dined at the Saba Restaurant for the first time on 23rd December. The food was excellent, the young man who was , on that evening, the host, waiter and chef was extremely helpful and gave lots of good advice about the food available. The meat (lamb chops, chicken breast and lamb kebabs) was of a very high standard and possibly the best chicken I've ever had! We were offered a complimentary pot of Persian tea which we accepted and all enjoyed. Although only open for 6-8 months I think this will become a popular venue for people looking for something a little different (we would normally have chosen an Indian restaurant).
