Lunch and dinner are prepared by native Italian chefs with a penchant for the traditional here at Sambuca Lounge Morley, an Italian restaurant in the heart of its namesake town, just five miles southwest of Leeds city centre, spread over two levels of an old terraced house tucked down Queen’s Place. The atmosphere on either floor is convivial, but the upstairs is particularly suited to private dining events and celebrations, seating thirty and with its own bar at your disposal. With something of a reputation among West Yorkshire’s lovers of Italian cuisine, Sambuca attracts those with a nose for quality from Leeds and beyond. Casual dining is more often the go for Morley locals, however, with many taking advantage of the three-course Sunday lunch and early bird specials for amazing discounts on Sambuca’s inspirational fare.
Had a lovely time for Valentine's day with my husband. The food was beautiful. The staff were very friendly and created a relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Great food, great service, highly recommended!!! We had the early bird menu and the choice was exactly same as menu which was great for us!
Food was lovely, good choice, service was just right- attentive and friendly but not overbearing! And free sambuca with the bill was a nice touch too- would definitely go back
We had a super time. Food was delicious, staff were lovely and service was excellent. I would recommend this restaurant for couples, groups & families- all are welcome.
Having visited Sabuca several times in the past and thouroughly enjoyed it, I recommended that we had our work christmas party there. There were 16 of us in total and we opted for the Christmas Party Menu at £21.95 and booked the table for 8pm. Imagine how embarrased I now feel. We were supposed to get a glass of sparkling wine on arrival which didnt happen. We didnt get our first course until 8.40pm. THe main meal was supposed to be accompanied with a side dish of vegatables and new potatoes with meat and fish dishes and an undisclosed side with pasta and pizza. Neither of these materialised. A few of the party ordered Steak Diana, which we renamed fatty Diana! The meat quality was poor to say the least and cold on arrival. One of our party didnt get her main course until the rest of us had finished our meals. By the time desserts had arrived we were ready to leave. There was no atmosphere and the waitress kept telling us to change the music if we wanted, like a do it yourself DJ. Not much effort was made to make the room look inviting. There were no table cloths on the table and only some sprigs in vases as decoration. In the past it has always looked festive and welcoming. They did come round with a complimentry lemon liqueur shot and asked us stay but the night by that time was over for us. Overall very diassapointed. We are a care company and our staff work very hard looking after vulnerable adults in the community and deserve a much better christmas party than this.
Not a good start as the restaurant had not received our on line booking even though I had a confirmation email. The same happened to the people behind us. The man was a bit abrupt saying it had not come through but did manage to sort us a table in about 10 minutes. The food was lovely and service good. It had a good atmosphere with authentic Italian music playing in the background. We will return but will ring up to book our table next time!
We wanted to order pate for starters but there was none left. We wanted chips with mains, but there was none left, only potatoes????. The white house wine wasn't very good. There was no table check until they took the plates away at the end of the meal. Not much atmosphere. Male staff at front of house needs to be more welcoming. Young girl very polite. Pollo Sambuca and Pollo Picante was very tasty and good. Complimentary Sambuca drink at the end of meal a nice touch. Will return but not for a while.
The lady waitress was incredible - what a welcome we got when we first arrived and throughout the meal ... Amazing food and such big portions our only negative was as we were getting ready to leave a male waiter came over to myself and said you need to leave as we need your table now ... What would of happened if we had ordered desserts ? This was a large party of 19 .. Would still come back but i did fee this let the day down
Sambuca is a real Italian experience with good food, wine and ambience. I have never been disappointed with my visits there, Plenty of choice of delicious fresh food. My sister who is a vegetarian was very pleased with her vegetable dish and my fish dish was very satisfactory. The service is all one could wish. Will go again.
The place was a bit shabby, needs a lick of paint and upgrading. Ordered a fillet steak which was tough. Given a table next to the entrance door way with a lovely view into the kitchen, so everything coming in and out of the kitchen went passed our table. For the money I paid I as very disappointed. No plans to revisit in the near future.
