When one thinks of great Southeast Asian cooking in Carlisle, the first name to come to mind is without a doubt Sawadee Coconut Thai. From their comfortable premises along Cecil Street, they’re dishing out Thai specialities just like back in their home country, with head chef and owner Saeng keeping close to tradition by using authentic recipes, fresh produce and all-natural ingredients. Her other labour of love, Coconut Tree Cafe, has also brought Saeng and her team recognition over the last seven years, making her the talk of the town. On the menu at Sawadee Coconut Thai you’ll be met with some superlative curries, perfectly cooked noodles and amazing desserts, all whipped up fresh to order. We recommend the salmon with sweet chilli sauce or the zesty glass noodle salad with your choice of spicy seafood, spicy green papaya or spicy beef, but any choice is a good choice at this town centre restaurant.
First time I booked a table here me and my family absolute loved it, really good food. I feel the quality's slipped since.. Jungle curry was bland and rice slightly overcooked. Desserts removed from the menu. However staff are incredibly friendly/accommodating and they're happy to cater for veggies!
we had an excellent meal at the Sawadee Coconut. Great Thai food and friendly service. We will definitely go again. Thanks for a great dinner.
I had the red thai curry with king prawns excellent very tasty would have it again. The others in our party had the massaman curry they liked very much. The sevice was very good and friendly. I would recommend this restaurant for a pleasant experience.
