More about Shababs, Birmingham

How’s your Arab coming along? Slow? Here’s a word for you to learn and keep in mind: Shabab is Arab for ‘pinnacle’ or youthfulness. And wouldn’t you know it – there’s so much for you to try and taste and have the friendly staff recommend you. Because Shabab Restaurants came on the scene in 1973, the heady days of the red flock wall paper and prevalent culture of a late night vindaloo melt down. Catering for the discerning diners who were on the look out for a dining experience combining authentic food, exotic surroundings and the very best eastern hospitality, Shabab in Leeds has to this day maintained excellent service and perfect Indian cuisine.

And wouldn’t you know it – there’s so much for you to try and taste and have the friendly staff recommend you. That’s because Sparkbrook’s Shababs came on the scene in 1973, the heady days of the red flock wallpaper and the prevalent culture of the late night vindaloo melt down. Catering for the discerning diners who were on the lookout for a dining experience combining authentic food, exotic surroundings and the very best eastern hospitality, Shababs on Ladypool Road in Birmingham has to this day maintained excellent service and perfect Indian cuisine.

Over the last thirty plus years Shababs’ richly decorated, authentic interiors and a range of mouth watering freshly prepared recipes have made them stand out from the ever increasing crowd of so called Indian eateries that look and taste the same. Shababs’ a-la-carte menu has continuously evolved over the years, with an emphasis on remaining authentic and close to the way meals are prepared in typical Asian domestic kitchens. The restaurant in Birmingham’s Sparkbrook use the very best ingredients from local suppliers and do not use any artificial colourings or ready made pastes.

Good spicy food, well cooked and very reasonably priced. I had the tandoori fish starter followed by a fish balti - both excellent. Would definitely visit again.

Excellent food, can highly recommend the keema naan. Fast service and very friendly. The prices are also very reasonable. Unlicensed but you can take your own beer.

I've been eating in the balti triangle for the last 15 years and Shebabs never fails to give the best value , quality and honest food . it does get very busy at times so booking may be useful at times.
