The lunch "deal" is a bit of a con. The main dishes either come with a large £7 surcharge or...nothing at all. 2/5 of them are just a piece of unaccompanied meat, or fish, and then you have to pay £5 for a vegetable side. Hardly what I'd call a main meal. Apart from that, the waitress was nice, despite trying to charge us a service charge on top of our Red Letter Day voucher, as I suppose service is not included either. I expect food to be cooked and brought to my table as part of the dining out experience, otherwise I can just as easily eat at home!

The service was bad, rude and we felt like we were an inconvenience, sides were forgotten given to us once we’d finished our meal, a service charge was added to our bill we didn’t want to pay as it wasn’t deserved and the attitude we received when we said we don’t think it’s deserved just goes to show it wasn’t deserved. The venue itself looks amazing the steak was good but the waiting staff let the venue down.

Our waiter Davide was amazing!!! Give him a raise!!! Have the best service with outstanding recommendations!!

2nd visit and unfortunately from the minute we walked in to sit on very worn, dirty chairs to the poor service from the waiter who was not interested in waiting on our group. Even for the maitre to say the atmosphere will get better later as 7:30pm was early to sit our group right on top of the escalator, despite there being several other tables available. Toilets were dirty and one soap dispenser between all the sinks. All in all a bad experience of what is potentially a fantastic place to dine.

The food is not nice and very bland, also very small portions.

Beautiful decor with lovely atmosphere. The food tasted very nice, soft drinks were over priced £3.50 for standard glass but overall enjoyed the experience.

Disappointing visit as I had purchased a groupon voucher and called in to book for this, however was not made aware that this was only available for lunch. I understand that this is in part my fault in not reading the terms and conditions thoroughly, however in booking I had clearly stated that I had a group on for the booking and was not told that this would not work for dinner. When we learned of this at the restaurant, the waiter serving us was particularly unfriendly and rude. I feel that there are many ways in which he could have told us that the deal was only available for lunch and I was made to feel embarrassed by him and too uncomfortable to continue ordering a meal there. For this reason I do not feel that I wish to return to the restaurant, even for the lunch and will be considering cancelling my groupon voucher. This was a highly disappointing visit and hope that no other customers are made to feel the way my partner and I did.

Staff were brilliant and the food was amazing. Can’t wait to go back would highly recommend!! We took out 9 month old baby and they were so accommodating

Walked in to restaurant to find reception staff on phone to what sounded like a friendly chat with work colleague. After waiting with no response from anyone, we asked another memeber if staff if we were waiting in the right place and was told, yes, “wait there till she is off the phone” Really poor start to experience. Waitress was OK, however quite a gap between delivery of main courses which meant my steak was cold by the time the all of our meals were delivered to table (there was only four of us) Food was great, decor impressive, bill astronomical considering service received and automatic £27 service charge, so overall mediocre experience. Good food and venue let down by poor service.

Overall review : Ambiance (+1) : The place is spectacular, the attention to details is well executed Music (-1) : Too loud, you will have to shout to be heard. No exotic music but all very commercial ( Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Neyo ...). Food (-1) : You are definitely not paying for the quality of the food here. The baked Bread ,announced to be freshly baked on the menu was probably 1 to 2 days old. The Sirloin Steak was well seasoned. The King Prawns tasted like defrosted food directly put in the oven. Not fresh. The Creme Brulee came cold and was liquid at the bottom. This is the kind of very cheap creme brulee used in motorway restaurant. They cannot be heated as it would all turn liquid. I believe this is why it came cold. The Mango Panacota was good but you can get a better one from Waitrose. Service (+1) : our waitress was very professional and nice. Given how big the place is, we were served pretty quickly. Overall : You definitely pay for the venue rather than the food. But anyway this was a good experience.

Groupon voucher is misleading. Didn’t expect to have to pay extra for some of the items listed on the menue and had to pay extra for sides. The service wasn’t great it was ok. Felt like the service was subpar because we were groupon customers. The food wasn’t great. Won’t be going there again and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Great décor, experience. Food was just Ok (Zebra was chewy). Staff were very good all round, good bar and wine selection but only 2 beers, not sure I would go again.

I found the waiters were unengaging and limited their attention and service to a minimum level. Food was ok, place itself is nice and the music was the best of all. Probably won’t go there again.

Poor customer service at the reception. I didn’t feel welcome. A member of staff questioned the online voucher. When I asked him to clarify why, he couldn’t give a proper answer.

Fantastic decoration. Very tasty food. Friendly staff and a great atmosphere. We went for lunch so place was quiet but I can imagine it's buzzing in the evening so best of both worlds.

Really nice restaurant with amazing decor. The waitress was ok a bit slow but the food made up for it. Was spot on from starred to dessert. The cocktails were delicious, will be back again soon!

It was an experience at Shaka Zulu. Can be a bit pricey even with a voucher. Not much SA food on the voucher menu. But food was good and staff very friendly.

We had an amazing Easter Sunday meal - there were 7 of us in a booth. The atmosphere was brilliant! We spent Easter here 2 years ago & loved it then & enjoyed it even more this time. They had a lot of added extras in terms of great entertainment for the diners with lovely dancers in fantastic zebra costumes gliding around (in keeping with the restuarants African theme) a great juggler; children also had their own play area & were being entertained downstairs by the General Manager & his team & given Easter Eggs! The food was great!!!! Large Sunday lunch portions & other more exotic options, which my brother choose. We were made to feel so welcome by all & we could just take our time to enjoy the atmosphere & eachothers company. It was a wonderful Easter Sunday afternoon! Thankyou to the harding fantastic & hard working team there!!!! We will all come again :) To note the restaurant is huge & spread over 2 floors with the most amazing interior!

Amazing food, amazing cocktails, amazing surroundings and amazing service from lovely gorgeous young Italian lady. I Recommend the Zebra if you're feeling adventurous it was perfect.

Disgraceful service.. starter came before our drinks even arrived. My main came 30 minutes before my partners main meal came out. No urgency to help. Our waitress gave us a free dessert and said to take the service charge off the final bill. We won’t be going back there again.

Interesting venue and menu. King sharing platter was great, cocktails mediocre and service a bit disjointed. Think this is probably best at the weekend when there’s more of a buzz. Happy hour should be renamed unhappy hour with the guy making cocktails.

Excellent all round service was good so was the food, my only quibble, it was that cold march of 2018 -5 outside ,a bit cold in the resturant, the heating need improving didn't think there was any

The ambiance Made us feel like we were back home in Africa. The food was nice and hot and the service was good. Since it acquired its from Africa please include some African dishes. For example ugali.

Lovely setting in the restaurant. Great atmosphere with the African theme. Unfortunately being vegetarian I do not expect my food to come out on same plate as a meat dish with it actually touching. This was changed when asked. Cocktails were good.

Amazing decor and fantastic service from the staff. The three course meal and menu choice was exceptional, would only liked a bit more food for the mains. The atmosphere was great. Had it not been halloween we would have stayed for tbe after club to which we were given vip tickets!
