Great food, great service. Twice cooked pork and tender beef were excellent as was the starter of dumplings. Only thing was that the Rice portions were a little small, so order a bit more of that.

Excellent atmosphere and competent friendly service. Unique selection of Sichuan dishes not usually found at the "usual" i.e. Cantonese Chinese restaurant. Will certainly visit again!

Excellent food and fast service! The best huiguoyu (twice cooked fish) in London. We were a party of 14 celebrating Chinese New Year, everyone feasted to their tummies delights!

A relatively new Chinese restaurant close to Moorgate station. It was busy with a company's Xmas party there but not extremely loud. Good food and good service.

awful. they asked to pay it by cash because I booked online. INSANE. Hotpot was so oily, all wasn't fresh. couldn't eat any meats and fishes-smells a lot-. was able to eat only radishes and shrimps, noodles. what is worse, it was £52.7 paid £60 by cash so I had to get £7.2 and some more coins but they only gave me £5.02. couldn't check this because i was in hurry and found out after I took the tube. so terrible and rubbish taste, waiters can't speak English at all. DO NOT GO HERE, PAID £55 FOR THIS HORRIBLE FOOD.

No frills restaurant, but the food is amazing. Be prepared to sit with other people as seating is set in rows. This visit took me back to days spent in china.

Ordered hotpot, but the only meat available on the day was tick beef. Soup was good but too much veggies and noodles on the initial plate.

We went for Lunch and had an a thoroughly enjoyable meal. The menu is varied and different from the usual Chinese menu. Staff were friendly and very helpful, especially on the menu. I would definitely visit again.

It was my second visit but this time I did not have the hotpot. The pork main dish I had was delicious, but a little oily.

Very disappointing compared to our first visit 6 months ago. All the dishes we ordered (bashed cucumbers, Ma po tofu, boiled tender beef slices in a lip tingling sauce, dry fried green beans and Sichuan Folk twice cooked pork) were exceptionally oily, and although we deliberately ordered several dishes that should deliver a proper lip-numbing amount of Sichuan pepper, it was remarkably absent. The portions were also very small - even the rice came in tiny amounts - and there were no buns with the twice cooked pork. I really hope this was just a blip - maybe the chef was off or something. But I'm not sure we'll bother to make the long schlep back to find out, when there are several excellent Sichuan places in Soho. We have a taste for Sichuan food because we spend part of every year in China, but we honestly can't recommend this place on current form.

Great food and friendly service - quickly served too which was great as a large group. Goes without saying at a Sichuanese restaurant but be prepared for very spicy food!

Food was nice from what me and my friend tried, but for that price should come with some sides. but the dessert was a let down..and the price was a bit to high per main course £1.50 per main course dish off less would be good, and a bit more improve on the service.

Great food and value with some real stand out dishes! We loved the chilli squid and the braised aubergine. However service was a little bit slow.

Sichuan Folk is one of my favourite restaurants. I've been with very large groups and small groups and the food and service are always spectacular.

Chinese food tends to be underrated due to the atrocities offered as chinese take aways. This is proper, spicy, deeply savoury, real chinese food. We have eaten here three times and on all occassions have been the only european customers in a packed restaurant full of chinese customers. If you, like me, love authentic food, please go here, do not choose from the menu and tell your waiter to bring what he recommends. This is not fancy food, but gutsy, interesting real food. Please go.

Rice per person, not by bowl. An important factor for me. Can definitely recommend the "mao xue wang", not for the faint hearted, but it is really good.

We've lived in London for the past 3 years, and been back to this restuarant so many times, more than any other restuarant we've discovered. We always get the signature dumplings to start and twice cooked pork as a main, along with another different dish to try each time we go. Those dishes keep on bringing us back, they are so delicious. The staff are nice and friendly. The restuarant has been refurbished since we first started going, but it's still got that traditional feel.

The food was good and served in good time. I would recommend it to other guests as a nice place to come eat. It was a not loud so you could hear yourself speak. But please do read the small print as bookings online must be paid via cash

One of the best restaurants I've ever been to. I've been coming here for several years and it's consistently good. It's not universally super spicy and vegetarian dishes are done with as much flair as the meaty dishes so veggies won't feel let down. My top tip is rather than looking at the menu, just tell them what you like (or don't like) and ask them to choose for you.

The first time we had tried Chinese food from the Sichuan region. It was spicy but very tasty. One slight negative I would say is that we found the food to be extremely oily but it could just have been the food we ordered. I stress a slight because I did enjoy the food and the staff were friendly and it was a nice atmosphere to dine in.

Overall, tasty food, relatively authentic while also having some fusion style dish and importantly, reasonable prices, I'd be happy to recommend it. In particular, the pig ear cold starter and one of the duck/lettuce/bun mains (can't recall the exact name) were both delicious.

Great food and location, one of the better places around the tourist brick lane area. Just remember to bring cash - they don't take cards and all the cashpoints close by charge!

Tasty food, served quickly, but what really made the meal was the friendliness and courtesy of the young waiter, who gave good advice on portion sizes and combinations of food.

Very friendly staff. We had hotpot half and half. Taste was good, but many ingredients were still frozen on the table, I did not like that very much. I lived in Sichuan for several years and like the hotpot really hot, this one was rather mild. I was missing the authentic dipping made of sesame oil, oyster sauce, garlic and spring onions and some typical ingredients like tripe. We paid 90 pounds for three persons.

Great food and really helpful, friendly service. This is probably the best Chinese food I've eaten in London – really fresh with subtle but distinctive seasoning. Well priced too. Will be back very soon!

Excellent food, good service. Start with the appetiser platter to get things going on the right note, before moving onto the very extensive menu. Sichuan Folk and its sister restaurant, Xi'an Impression, are two of my favourite Chinese restaurants in London.
