Small, cosy restaurant. Excellent staff and the food was good. Marked the rating down as every dish needs a side order, and they are £4 each for a mouthful of veggies. Sort that bit out and I would recommend a visit.

Good food, good service, but the hard floor and the flat ceiling meant a noisy background...A few sound buffers hung from the ceiling would help a lot. A good addition to Shenfield’s eating places.

The staff were friendly and polite and did a great job. The food was very nice and well presented but could be improved. The shredded duck starter was very dry and could have done with a sauce of some form, the lamb was cooked perfectly and tasted very nice but it was cold, the tomato and shallot side salad comprised 4 wafer thin slices of tomato with some sliced shallot sprinkled on top, probably half a tomato at most. However all things considered we still enjoyed the meal and the evening as a whole.

Nice decor and ambience. Staff were warm and friendly. Food was slow coming. 3 of our party had fishcakes which were over cooked and dried out. We weren’t put off and we do plan to go back another time to see if this experience was a one off.

The food was cooked very well except the chips were slightly underdone but this was minor. Service a bit on the slow side but probably due to teething problems. Definitely worth a visit

The place was fully booked and every table ordered at the same time. Well that was the excuse we got when we waited an hour to get our starter. Could be new restaurant teething problems. Food was ok, nothing special, duck was ok but over powered by the amount of soy.
