Stair Inn

Was disappointed the chef had just left and was unable to get the full menu. Was looking forward to the hot smoked salmon/trout pate. Will definitely come back to restaurant as these things can’t be helped.

Lovely meal in beautiful surroundings, would highly recommend. Cosy log burner and clean traditional decor with a modern twist. Food was fresh and tasty hearty grub.

We had a lovely night at the Stair Inn celebrating my father's 90th birthday. The food was excellent and well-priced, the atmosphere was lovely and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. I would thoroughly recommend the Stair Inn to anyone looking for a meal in a nice country pub.

Warm friendly place to eat, couldn't fault the food or service and definitely worth the 20 mile drive to get there. Shame the portions were so large which stopped us from trying their deserts lol

Lovely place, clean, friendly staff, good choice of food and few choices for vegetarians too. Plenty of whisky and gin to choose from maybe a few more craft beers

Unfortunately our car broke down 10 mins from Stair Inn. As we had no wifi in the middle of nowhere I phoned my daughter and she phoned and cancelled as we could not cancel online. Sincere apologies, but we were so looking forward to our late lunch at this lovely restuarant. Will re book ASAP. Carole Whittle

Food was excellent and very generous portions. Desserts also good and similarly sized. Staff very attentive and pleasant. Prices were reasonable. Only slight downside was very quiet so not much atmosphere which is a shame as it’s a lovely place to visit

Food was average. Took a long time for the food to arrive at table considering the place was near on empty. Plates were 3/4 with chips to make it appear like a full meal. Lack of meat in both the pulled pork casserole and the lamb dish. Wine was terrible, both rose and white.

I would say that the service provided by the Stair Inn is good value for money. The room we had was comfortable, if rather basic . The food was good and the staff very friendly and helpful. It is situated in a quiet, picturesque rural area.

Although the restaurant was not busy, it took over an hour before we got our meal even though we were there with 3 children - one only 3. The meal was not impressive and although the staff were pleasant, they seemed to lack any training. We will not be back

Lovely restaurant and choice of food. Had really tasty Moroccan Lamb with great homemade chips. Good value for money and highly recommended. Will definitely be back.

Nice and quite country pub ,the service and food was good . Loved the table and chairs inside quirky .would go again if we were passing

Lovely food, in great traditional pub in the countryside. Good range of CAMRA beers. The staff made us feel welcome, and relaxed. Little bit pricey but the menu was varied and different, as well as delicious.

Delicious food & very friendly staff! Bed a bit small (we are both tall and are used to bigger than a normal double size), but overall a very welcome stop-over for our River Ayr Way walk.

A tasty and freshly prepared food from a well balanced menu. My wife and I will certainly be returning next time we're in the area.
