Great service, great food and really nice atmosphere. As usual, we wished we had more room for more food! I will definitely come back to Sultan.

As always a great place to eat in Lancaster. Fantastic curry with a huge range from super mild to super spicy and naan breads to die for.

I love curry and have been to many different Indian restaurants,my favourite curry is Madras and I must say the very ,very best Madras curry is the one I have at the Sultan .Lancaster

The food was lovely. We tried some new dishes which were really good and tasty. Quick service, did not have to wait to be served. Definitely coming back in the future

The Location and the dishes were great! But we were waiting for more than one hour for our food. At least, the waiting times were too long.

Very enjoyable overall. Late booking accepted and treatment, food and value for money all good. Only downside was rather long wait for main course due to chef being out 0f sorts. All credit cards accepted.

Excellent as always - Sultan Of Lancaster is my favourite restaurant in the city. The Vegetable Thali is incredible, and it's never a problem for the chef to adapt it to vegan. Situated very close to Lancaster's theatres, so it's the ideal place for a pre-show meal.

Always enjoy dining here. Lovely setting and tasty. Great early bird option provides a quick and cheaper option but with the same good quality food.

Walked out after 20 minutes as no one had taken our order. Also, the place was freezing cold and the waiter told us off when we switched on a wall heater and told us to turn it off as it would trip the electrics due to there already being 3 heaters switched on! Frightful experience and won’t be returning.

Booked online, very easy. Received email confirmation. Good choice of food on menu. Had a very enjoyable meal, food very tasty, good service. Would recommend.

Nice food, and very respectful staff who showed every courtesy. Lacked a little in the atmosphere stakes but I will go again. Beautifully fitted out with a real Indian feel to it but as i say, just lacked the 'WOW' factor

HAd the vindaloo, was really nice, however it was not that spicy, which was a suprise, and I wanted something spicy. The staff were nice and the prices reasonable

We went to eat at the sultan hour, it was fantastic value for money, and delicous. We all enjoyed the food and will be back and eating there again soon.

Fantastic food - the vegetable thali is amazing! A great restaurant housed in a beautiful building - right in the centre of Lancaster. Looking forward to future visits.

Beautiful building, the staff were lovely and meal was divine. We had the vegetarian thali for 2 and a bottle of sparkling grape juice to share which was fantastic value for money. We will definitely be dining here again.

Very good - as usual. Food and service top-notch. Glad we booked, as the restaurant was full. A well run business, with the no alcohol sales a big plus for us - as this results in less loudmouths!

Excellent food, friendly service and good value. The chef made a vegan version of the thali for us, and our meat-eating friend was equally delighted with her chicken moglai. The best!

Once again a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The food was excellent as usual, and nothing was too much trouble for the friendly and efficient staff! Always eager to please, they cater well for vegtarians and xan offer vegan meals too!

We had a fantastic meal here at the Sultan. The service is friendly and welcoming. The food is excellent, and reasonably priced, and it's such a great atmosphere. Will definitely return as soon as we can!

Great food and a lovely atmosphere as there was no background music and no alcohol. The 5 of us really enjoyed our meals and I braved the Madras which was not too hot.

brill food. excellent service and quiet for conversations. gets in my books as one of my favourite restaurants. i would recommend if you want a good meal and be able to have a chat.

was my first time there , I was not aware it did not sell alcohol as I like a glass of red wine with my meals ,the food was good but not quite to my liking the starter was very good and the main was good did not like the peswari narm will not be going again

The Sultan of Lancaster has great food, the service was friendly and very fast, lovely decor. And all at a very reasonable price. Well worth a visit. Don't be put off by the fact alcohol isn't available, the alternatives are delightful.

Having been looking forward to trying here we were sadly disappointed with the lack of spice within a curry and also the cold poperdoms, no alchol is served.
